"George Bernard Shaw was a coke addict."
- Likely story

Interesting how all you guys like to use English's largest word, "if" so very often.

Here's one for you: If there where any evidences to disprove the Bible, do you really think they would still be hidden? Don't you think they would have been uncovered by now?

My advice to you sir: Don't try to be deep, you don't have the golashes for it.

Actually, they would - most Christians are not fundies, and most Christian Bible scholars, aside from the fundamentalists, are even less doctrinaire than the average Christian. For example, it is almost universally accepted among non-fundy scholars that the gospels were not written by the traditional authors and were written by people who at best were relying on oral traditions that had had many retellings - a view that is rarely expressed by Christian non-scholars.

Of course, stuff like this rarely makes it into the media - it upsets too many people and doesn't sell enough publications or advertising.

With all due respect, Mr. Shaw is just a man and that fact alone does not make any of his statements be set in stone. I would say that we would because anyone who would not, is not a true Christian because true Christians do not make a practice of lying. May God Bless U.

Most biblical scholars are not "Christian" actually. This is especially true in archaeology and higher criticism. I was a biblical studies major in college, so dish your paranoia on someone else.

Unlikely. Religion is very big business further I would think if someone could prove the bible to be totally false their life would be in danger.

Addenda, I don't believe the bible to be true and its inconsistencies are self evident and it has repeatedly proven itself to be false. That being said,. if documents could be produced proving the bible to be totally false, everything that could be done by big religion to suppress it would be done

More important would we listen? I live by the bible...if they found it to be completely fake (which it's not) I'd still live by it. And if they found Jesus to be a made up character (which he isn't) he would still be my God!

They'd come up with a reason as to why it was disproved, saying that god actually intended it to be another way.
