The Children's Aid society took your kids? That means you are an unfit parent in their eyes for some reason. Police have the authority to use force to assist the Children's aid society to remove children. So if you are trying to stop the removal of the kids the police will use force on you to stop you from interfering. Police do not need a warrant to enter and do this, so I don't know what that is all about.
There was obviously information that there were people in your house that were putting your kids at risk somehow.

You really don't give enough information to give a good answer, clarify a bit and we will see what we can do.

I have never heard of police beating someone up for nothing. Sometimes, they DO go overboard in their uses of force (like Rodney King) but they don't just pick someone random off the street to beat up. Either they they are really mouthy(police are people, and get angry the same as anyone else) or the person is resisting arrest, refusing to cooperate, or being a total jerk.

Police must have a valid reason to beat up a person and when there is none, it is abuse of authority under the law.

It usually means you're in denial...or on Reno 911.
Police don't usually hide in bushes waiting for some "innocent" person so they can wail on them.

I'm going out on a limb here but, could it be that you were repeatedly asked to do something reasonable and you repeatedly refused to comply?

Well, typically it means that you have omitted most of the pertinent information in your question, as I doubt it really happened the way you are describing.
