if you cannot move it at all it is probably broken . i have broken my toe before and doctors cant do much about it . what i suggest is to wrap it with gauze or small bandages . wrap it snuggly to the neighbor toe and that will stablize it and make it heal quicker.

First, it does sound like it's broken. Don't worry. I've broken my toe before, and it's not a serious problem. Just follow this advice: 1)try to stay off of it as much as possible. I know you said you have to go to the gym, but you shouldn't do any exercise that involves using your foot or standing on that particular foot for any length of time. 2)tape your toe to the toe next to it. This will immobilize it so you probably won't need a special shoe. However, it's better if you have a shoe made for a broken toe, to keep your foot from moving the toe too much.(When I broke my toe, I had to have the shoe and crutches. If you don't have crutches, buy some. This will help, especially if you need help standing while at work.) 3) if you have any swelling, you can use an ice pack wrapped in a towel. Don't forget to wrap it up, though. A broken toe takes approximately 6 weeks to 2 months to heal completely. Good luck, and I hope you feel better soon.

I actually broke mine before and didn't know it. I wondered why it was all blue looking and sore. I was still able to move it though thats why I didnt think it was broken. Now it healed a little bit crooked . You should be feeling throbbng sensations and see your toe turn a shade of bluish purplish color if its broke... best wishes... if I were you You will feel better if you go in for an x ray.

Dooneygirl is right. Even if you get an xray and it's broken, there's nothing they can do for your toe that you can't do yourself. Wrap it up tightly with a neighbor toe, and stay off your foot as much as possible.
