I am 22 years old and in 4 days I will be a mother. When I got pregnant my ex and I were already broken up and he pretty much bailed on me. Called randomly here and there but never went to doctor appointments, or lamaze or anything. Now he is calling saying he awnts to be in the delivery room and he wants a say in god parents and baby names and so on. I made all those decisions(name, godparents) by myself and I personally think that if it was so important to him he would have been around. Am I right for naming our daughter and making certain decisions on my own?

the only reason im even questioning myself is for the sake of my daughter..i dont want to deprive her of anything from her father but his "caring" is coming too little too late i think

there is no one who can guide you thru this except YOU. I think you know that the responsibilty of raising your child is all yours -- the current interest he is showing in the baby may or may not be geniune, but the sad truth is either way he is not going to stick around for long and you know it.
stick to your guns, don't let him sway your decisions but do try to include him in the babies life. you all are very young right now and time will tell if he is going to remain a constant in her life. he may surprise you and be a great dad someday.
just play it safe, don't exclude him but don't let him play too large a part in your emotions right now.

Yes, you sound hurt and making decisions based on that. Sometimes it takes a man a little longer to come around to having a baby. It is a life changing event and he will be that baby's dad forever and in your life for the next 18 or so years. Give a little maybe you will be surprised.

you are absolutely right about the whole thing if he wasnt there to even care for you in any way then what makes him capable of caring for a baby and if hes not going to care for the baby he has no right to have anything to do with it, he doesnt deserve something as beautiful as a baby, hang in there and stay strong you'll get through this, I understand your problem and your side of the story
