If that is the case then we are "literally" made to live with our sins forever. I have had this theory about repetitive lives. I am not talking about reincarnation. I am talking about being born into the exact same life when we die. Think of it as "groundhog life" instead of "groundhod day" I want you to read this article because it explains things better.

I don't need to read the article. I have thought about this before. It would suck. It would be horrible. For one thing, we all wouldn't be in the same time would we? We all die at different times, so our loved ones wouldn't really be with us anymore, just kind of only shadows in a way. No, it's horrible depressing, I don't like to think about it. I love you, but shut up now.

I have gone through almost the EXACT same thing. Same back and forth 'I miss you's and the "I want to be with you but I can't move forward" and I too went through an extreme change in my academic work and my social life. Friends even stopped asking me to hang out because I was so torn up and they didn't know how to help. It's been 3 years since I broke up with that great love of mine and I can tell you that despite how many time you tell yourself you won't be the same, you WILL. You just need to remind yourself that you're not alone. Many people have suffered through painful and confusing breakups and you WILL move on. Don't go looking for an easy out because you won't find one. As soon as you promise yourself that you need to take control of your life again, you can start to move forward. Just think how much you truly care about him and how you both deserve to be happy. Just not with each other, or maybe just not NOW. Good luck, and I'm sorry you're going through this. You'll make it out alive. :)

Hi Greedo. God gives us many examples in the Bible of what Hell will be like for the unsaved. You can read Deuteronomy 28, from verse 15 to the end of the chapter, and you will see expression after expression of things that happen on this earth which are used to develop a picture of the awfulness of hell. I won't post it because it is a very long passage.

God does give us other scripture describing Hell in Revelation 14:11 God warns us:

"And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night."

In Matthew 8:12 He tells us:

"But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness [hell]: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

God speaks of hell as a lake of fire in Revelation 20:10:

"And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever."

Salvation is a gift. The same gift of eternal life is given to every believer. Hell is payment for sin. We read in Romans 6:23:

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Read The Vision and the Riddle. Dealing with the eternal return is the greates challenge man faces. ( If you like to get your philosophy via literature rather than source material read "the unbearable lightness of being"

Being a "philosopher" myself, I don't have to read the article to know what it contains. Ever read MILTON. This "is" hell. When found unworthy to "go to heaven," you stay HERE in spirit to fight the demons put here along with the devil for a HOST to live in. Remember the pigs in Jesus' story? That's why they call it HELL! You never get to leave this unpredictable place with all it's up's and down's and you don't even get to be HUMAN again for you have to exist POSSESSING something............

On the plus side, we'd be able to drink for the Pascal's Wager question over and over.

Nah, life on Earth can't be Hell. There's too much good in it to distract you from how horrible it is.
