before you slice the apples, fill a bowl with water and a small teaspoon of salt! slice the apples and put each piece into the salt water. this is a pretty safe and easy way to keep them from turning brown!

Mix the lemon juice with some fresh water or all you will get is one sour apple! I recommend a tbsp or lemon juice to a cup of cold water and pour over the apple slices.

Any kind of acid will do . Lemon, lime, orange, or even pineapple juice, but a little goes along way, to much will start breaking down the apple causing it to get soggy and mushy. The browning is caused by oxidization, or exposure to air. It happens in a lot of starchy foods. Another trick to submerge the apple in water, though it will lead to even soggier apples.

Store them in water with a little acid: lemon, juice vinegar, etc. Just enough to make the water acidic you don't want to have the apples lose their flavor. A teaspoon of vitamin c powder or ascorbic acid will work too with the added benifit of not imparting a flavor.

dissolve the salt in warm water and let it cool (or unless you want hot apples)
then place the slices in for like 5 mins...

Lemon juice is what I have heard. But make sure you don't add too much or it totally affects the taste. ;)
