Would it be a bad thing? Why or why not? What would be some fears that people may have if it weren't legalized? What if there were no technology to do such a thing?

There was a time when abortions WERE illegal. Women went to people who were more than willing to take their money and SAY they knew how to do abortions. Thousands of those women wound up bleeding to death. Many wound up sterile as a result of botched abortions or infections from them. Anyone could give an abortion, no one had to have e medical degree...anyone who could read an anatomy book could perform abortions.
In 1960 a friend of my stepsister's was found dead on a table inside a condemed apartment building, she was found 5 days after she had bled to death from a botched abortion. The girl was 15 years old. That's what happen if abortions were not legalized...Would THAT be a bad thing?

I have a dear 80-year-old friend who found herself pregnant as a young woman. Abortion was not legal, there were no instruments for performing the procedure. A back alley doctor trying to make some extra cash jumped on her stomach until she lost consciousness. She almost bled to death and could never have a child.

Historically speaking, when people perceive a "need" like I desperately need to not have a baby, they will find way. This is actually why abortion became legal - thousands and thousands of women with stories like my friend's or worse.

abortion is not a modern thing it has been happening since women could have children. The current "technology" is medicine's way to make it safer for the mother to have the procedure. As for if it were illegal, it would still happen, but the people performing them would not be licensed doctors which could cause harm to the mom, like infertility, infection, and even death because just like people who accidently overdose on illegal drugs are afraid to seek help so would the women who got an infection from their abortion. Many clinics are talking to women and showing them that they can have their child and through counseling are actually reaching more women.

ps. I am pro-life, but that includes the mothers

Abortions have been done for thousands of years, with and without laws. Yes back to the earliest of days that we have records for, and I am talking about picture records.

It is not a new idea.

You'd have women dying from trying to perform abortions on themselves or from illegal abortions in unsanitary conditions, just as happened before it was legalized.
