Hi Betty,
The Christians that I know including my family members do NOT smoke. Anything that is as hazardous as smoking is certainly not something that we should be doing to GOD's Temple. Have a great week.
Thanks,

Smoking is not stated a sin by God Himself, so one can still be a Christian and smoke. Also if you smoke it is not guaranteed you will die from smoke related illnesses. Using your logic why don't Christians stop eating unhealthy foods and riding in automobiles, those things if we partake in them have the chance we may die. This is a poor argument on why Christians should not smoke. There are two much better reasons why Christians should not smoke. 1. Smoking causes an addiction and God does not want us to be dependent on anything but Him. 2. A Christian should not do anything to make a weaker brother or sister stumble. Bottom line whether one smokes or not does determine their status as a Christian, what maters is if they have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and personnel savior and are living according to the Holy Spirit of God. A Christian will be judged by what Christ did, not what they did. Thank God, because I know I am not nearly good enough to go to heaven by God's standards.

Smoking is never a sin. But to steal or to kill in order to have something to smoke is what it takes to sin and be punished first by human law and then God's law in the end.
It also becomes a sin when you are aware that it only takes few more puffs and you're dead which means you did it on purpose. But the surgeon general's warning does not carry enough weight to consider smoking as a sin but only a warning that it may not be good to one's health.

If you are so sure that smoking is a sin, give actual scripture from the Bible so that there will be no doubt in any person's mind.
I'll save you the trouble of looking for an answer that isn't there. So please stop trying to be religious and telling others what is a sin and what isn't.
And for the record, I was a smoker until I gave it to the Lord.

There are Mortal Sins, and Deadly Sins.
Your Deadly sins are those that violate one or more of the Ten Commandments, and are the ONLY violations that will damn one to Hell.
Smoking Doesn't fall into any of them.
The 7 Mortal Sins: Wrath, Greed, Gluttony, Pride, Envy, Sloth and Lust. Wont send you to Hell, but are very counter productive to serenity. And again, i'm not seeing which one Smoking would fall under..
So i'm left thinking, Nawwwww.... Not a sin.

Can you find in the 10 commandments or other scripture where it says do not smoke? Did anyone smoke at the time of writing? It may be unhealthy and stupid, but maybe not a direct intentional sin.

I don't think that smoking is actually a sin. I do think that it is suicide however. It is a slow way of killing yourself. It is just like alcohol. If you just keep drinking you will slowly kill yourself. Now if suicide is a bad thing in the eyes of the Christian God then the smokers of the world have some explaining to do with their God.

God forgives them. That's the beauty of religion. Sins are arbitrary; you can commit as many sins as you want and since Jesus died for our sins we're all off the hook. Makes sense doesn't it? Why wouldn't you follow that religion? You get an excuse to miss work on Sunday's, you get tax credits for donations, and you can ALWAYS exaggerate those. It's a sweet deal.....but I still don't do it!

If there is a God (fill in the blank), then there must not be a God!
Same old, same old.
The existence of God is not a question of logic (If --- then ---) or of value (Is it right that there is or is not a God?).
It is a question of fact: Is there or is there not a God?
There is enormous amounts of secondary evidence (the same kind used in courts of law) showing the existence of God, including eyewitness accounts.
Whatever your opinion is does not change the fact that He lives.

Smoking is not a SIN. Where did you get the idea that its a sin?...Do you really know what a sin is? I think you should educate yourself more in this religious matter.
