It doesn't matter if it has only been 5 minutes sitting down, my feet will be purple. Some toes and spots darker than others. Why is this? Once I start walking, they are fine again within minutes.

I am a 17 yr old girl.
I don't eat much meat, but I just went to the doctor for a check up a month ago and he said I was healthy.
I am 5 ft 8 and 125-130 Ibs.

I feel perfectly healthy. The only medication I am on (which I recently started taking for the 1st time ever this month) is 54mg of Concerta for my ADHD... which might I add is helping a lot with school work.

any ideas of why this is happening?

Tell you doctor and parents and get your blood pressure checked out maybe.

Sounds like very poor circulation. If your doc already checked your heart and blood pressure, and you told him about your feet,START EXERCISING! Any aerobic exercise-walk,run,swim,dance-as soon as possible. Poor circulation only gets worse unless you do something now! Aerobic exercise increases your peripheral circulation.
Also, take really good vitamin supplement with minerals to help build up circulation [new blood vessels] in your legs.
Good luck!

Purple Feet When Sitting Down

i take it that you didn't show your feet to your dr? I think you need to call and let him know what is going on. My mother has heart problems, and her feet turn dark when she sits with them on the floor for any length of time. I make sure she elevates her feet as often as possible. and when she is about to stand up I have her do exercises, lifting her feet up several times before she stands. it helps her.
