My doctor told me to be on a 1000-1200 cal / day diet. I went on some meds almost a week ago, and I started the diet Monday. I am extremely weak, it is really hard for me to find low cal foods so if I can't I just don't eat. Do I need to call my doctor, or is this normal adjusting to the diet?

its really low - thats about how much people in coma have.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

1000-1200 calorie diet is not even healthy for a weight loss diet. That is practically starving yourself. If you are trying to loose weight 1600 is a little more practical but could still be low. 2000 is the daily recommended intake but of course it varies by body type and how active you are. This doctor sounds like a nut case and you should not go back.

I've under no circumstances heard of a weight loss plan that is less than 1200 calories per day. The natural human body need about 3000 calories every day to preserve. If you are going to try 600 make it very quick and drink plenty of water.

You must eat. Fruits and veggies have very few calories, so you can fill up on them and usually stay under the 1200 cals. Also, try some of the nutritional bars and shakes.
Soups, except creamed soups, are often low calories.
You won't find anything in the vending machines, so you need to take it to work/school.
Good luck.

I even have on no account heard of a weight loss software it is decrease than 1200 energy in line with day. the traditional human physique choose for extra or less 3000 energy each and on a daily basis to maintain. in case you will try six hundred make it very short and drink a variety of of water.
