Everyone has regrets....take special notice that most of these answers here mention regret over sex and getting together with or staying with the wrong person. My self....I regret having children....I love my kids and would never give them up for anything, I never wanted children but when I married the wrong man I convinced myself that I did want children. I also wish I would have been able to get a better degree in college, now I am waiting for the children to get older to get a better degree. My life is rich and rewarding in it's own way.....but it's not close to what I wanted for myself.....and now, it is pretty much a loss cause b/c I can never have all those years back.

This may not be the answer you are looking for, but the #1 thing I regret is not really knowing who Jesus Christ is earlier in my life. I lost my mother at 17 years old, and the plot thickens from there. I do not regret the choices that I made, because every consequence brought me insight, wisdom and knowledge. Knowing Jesus does not make everything perfect, but it made it a lot easier to cope with the days when things were not so perfect. Since I have started leaning on the wisdom of the Bible, my relationships have improved, my general nature and outlook on life has improved. I practice humility and wisdom. When in doubt, be quiet and listen. People are unable to hurt me, because I am better equipped to let them deal with their own problems. The Bible is full of great suggestion to keep your life on the right track.

I do believe in regrets and my biggest regret was being so shy in high school. I'm currently in college and I realize now that I kept myself from doing a lot of things because I was afraid of what people would think. I would tell a teenager in high school that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and be confident. Remember the ones who usually talk about or put others down are usually the ones who are the most insecure.

My biggest regret was lowering my standards and going out loosely with every Tom, Dick, and Harry.

My other regret was disrespecting my parents when they had concerns about me. Now that they are gone, I wish I would have followed their advice.

My last regret was not continuing my college education in my younger years. I was a late bloomer who completed college in the mid 90's. I am paying for it to this day. If I had an internship job after college in the late 80's, I would have been making money like Bill Gates right now. Seriously.

So go to school, respect your parents, and be selective about the men you date. You have every right to be picky these days.

I regret having sex at the age of 17. I got pregnant and married the man thought I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, but he cheated and I was left with a baby and no husband because I left him. My advice to teens is not to think of the present but of your future life. What you think is best for you at this time is probably not the right thing and won't last.

My #1 regret is making fun of certain other people, instead of making friends with them. If I ever get the chance to apologize, I will, but that probably won't happen -- so I just have to live with the knowledge that I may have hurt someone's feelings.

Yes, you can regret many things, but the most important is messing up your personal life. Before you make any big decisions reallly think them through.
I had the opportunity to change things and i didnt. And i regret that. Follow your heart, I didnt. and it hurts more now than ever.

my biggest regret is this, I didn't listen to people when they gave me advise, you know, like out of the kindness of their hearts. if i would of listened to even 50% of the advise I do believe that I would be in a much better place (as in emotionally, residential, financially) than I am. I thought I had most of, if not all, of the answers. It is true, older people are wiser, not smarter, just wiser because they've lived through so much more or seen what happened to someone else in similar circumstances.

wow!! good question. I dont like to say I have many regrets, just learning experiences. Most of my regrets are if I have somehow hurt someone's feelings. But I dont think there is one way to prevent them from making same mistakes...could your parents have prevented you?......................

YES, I believe in REGRETS .. get to know everything about someone BEFORE you make the decision to MARRY .. because when the family HIDES things (like the person's past or their medical records), then you KNOW that you should DEFINITELY Walk FAST AWAY!
