Is there something going on there? It is not possible for a driver to be that far behind every week and come back.

Yeah Nascar loves the Hendrick bunch and will do anything to keep their golden boy punks Jerk Gordan and Jerky Johnson in the winners circle even a pit official catching a tire before it gets out of the pit so they don't get penalized. haven't seen any other teams get help like that just alot of pointing for the other teams.

Jeff Gordon has done that by racing to get a lap or two back and then getting the Lucky Dog. Remember why they went to the Lucky Dog. There were some drivers, as the yellow flag come out and racing to the line, especially if they were a lap down, were complaining about this, because of being involved in wrecks or nearly wrecking, which would possibly take out the leaders if not a top five or ten car at that moment of the race. It is easier to race your laps back on Bristol, Martinsville, or Richmond, then say Daytona and Talledega.

That is a result of the ridiculous 'lucky dog' rule, where the last car to be a lap down gets a free pass to get his lap back when the yellow comes out. There have been many instanced where Jr was in this scenario and the yellow came out just to give hm his laps back. Often referred to as the "Dale Jr. Caution"

There was a race years back before restrictor plates at Talladega that Bill Elliot made up three laps under green to win the race.

NASCAR has more cautions now than in the past. Johnson comes out and gets in front of the leader on a restart and another caution flies soon. Then on the next lap, he gets the so-called "lucky dog" and he's back on the lead lap. When you have a good car and a good pit crew, it is possible. Johnson seems to have most of his problems early, but is usually around the top by the end of the race.

It is, if he gets in position to earn the "Lucky Dog" pass or if he has inside front position on a restart, passes the leader and stays there till the next caution. As many cars as can may do the same thing to get a lap back.

Before the NO PASSING under yellow rule, drivers got laps back all the time under caution, sometimes several drivers, depending on the mood of the leader. He would just slow down and let them back on the lead lap.

Drivers could and still can get back on the lead lap the old fashioned way, under GREEN, if they can pass or are allowed to by the leader.

In fact, in the past I have seen several instances where drivers have come from multiple laps down to win without the Lucky dog and sometimes with minimal help from cautions.

I believe Bill Elliot overcame a multiple lap deficit in one plateless superspeedway race, during the years his car was so dominate. He just flat outran everybody, made up the laps on the track and won going away. Yeah, his car was that much faster. If he had led every lap, he would have had the whole field down several laps. I believe he got 1 lap back due to a caution and being the only car laps down restarted inside front, passed the leader to get one back, then made up another 2.5 miles before the next fuel stop. He just kept turning fast laps until he was back in the lead.

They didn't call him "Awesome Bill from Dawsonville" because he talked pretty!

to my appenion if you ever notice, it seems to me that nascar is the only ones who likes the ones that the fans dont care much for. if they dont have a big fan base nascar seems to baby them. when johnson is laped or gonna get lapped they seem to find trash on the track at the moment and throw a caution. besides, he dose seem to have the #1 best cheater as a crew chef. lets not forget, chad has cheated about every race from start till last year. but yet johnson always seems to be the only driver that has never gotten points taken away from him............that is a question i have been itching to ask nascar. just dont know how to write them to ask that. chad got susspended. nothing was taken from johnson. harvick cheated. bam. owner points and drivers points and everyone after that right up to this year with waltrip. but johnson that i know of has never had points taken away.

in straightforward words 3 communities contained in the historic previous of the NHL, MLB, and NBA have ever come decrease back from 3-0 down. it truly is like, over 2 hundred years mixed, and in straightforward words 3 communities did it. The historic mathematical threat even as the celebrities went up 3-0 replaced into a million.a million% for the Sharks to win the sequence. i ought to assert that it truly is possibly round 8% now. I strongly trust that when a crew is up 3-0, the sequence is over. The Maple Leafs, Islanders, and red Sox were anomalies in my opinion. both way, bypass Sharks!

Jimmie has always done that even before the Lucky Dog. It is because he is a good clean, hard driver. That is why he is the champion. That is why he is my man. Watch him win the cup again this year.

you are just sore that Jimmie is a more talented driver than your driver is.

There is always that conspiracy that the sponsor of the winning car is also the sponsor of the race, so somehow they find a way. (Not that I believe in it), but Johnson always wins at Lowes Motor Speedway, he won the Kobalt Tools race. And other drivers like Kasey Kahne -- UAW, J Gordon -- Pepsi 500. And many more.

Yes it is possible.I'm not a fan of his i really enjoyed this weeks race. The reason he is able to come back is that he is somewhat better than average as a driver. But the #1 reason is, that he has the best crew chief in the business.
If they were to put Chad with Mears it would be the same results.
