When will the Jehovah’s Witness "last Generation" be over? Are we finally in the Watchtower Generation of the end? The Watchtower says 'yes' and is now pointing to 2005 as the end of the Generation of the Anointed that started in 1935. 1935 was the year that the Watchtower announced that the final number of the 144,000 anointed class was completed. 1935 was also the start of a class of Jehovah's Witnesses who had the hope of entering into the new paradise earth alive without dying. In The Watchtower October 1, 1997 page 23 they say,
In 1935 we came to understand that the "great crowd" was not a secondary heavenly class. We learned that it instead represents a class that survives the great tribulation and has the opportunity of living forever in Paradise on earth. (Revelation 7:9-14) With this new understanding, some who had partaken of the Memorial emblems realised that theirs was an earthly hope, and they discontinued partaking.
Never before had the Watchtower given this earthly hope. This generation of people, starting with the Watchtower's announcement in 1935, was the one designated to survive Armageddon and walk into the new earth alive. It has now been well over 60 years since the anointed class has been preaching to this special generation of Watchtower survivors. The September 15, 1997 Watchtower on page 14 and 15 says,
And for over 60 years now, God has been using these anointed ones to spearhead the work of making disciples of people to whom he has given the wonderful hope of life eternal on a paradise earth. The Watchtower's anointed class is preaching its last message to a generation which is quickly coming to a close. No wonder Jehovah's Witnesses who have longed for the end for so long have accepted this message with a renewed excitement. This is the end of a long line of predictions from the Society and the last chance for the 1935 generation of Watchtower survivors to enter into paradise alive.
The June 15, 2002 Watchtower on page 3 says boldly, "A New World Within a Single Generation". They go on to pose this question, "Can we realistically expect to see the hoped-for "new world within a single generation"?...The Bible points to that prospect...
And from pages 6 & 7,
His appointed time for direct action to rid the earth of all oppression and injustice lies in the near future...Soon, on a cleansed paradise earth, they will experience complete freedom from all injustice and suffering..."Many stunning steps forward" have been made in humanitarian efforts to help oppressed humanity... Yet, the most stunning step will be the imminent intervention by Christ Jesus and his associate rulers in the heavenly Kingdom government.
When will this generation of the end be over? JW's believe the Bible points to a 70 year period of time that is considered the maximum span of a Biblical 'generation'. Since The Watchtower is now pointing to 1935 as the start of the final generation, 1935 plus 70 years equals 2005.
New Light? In 1935 the final countdown began!
The Watchtower is betting one last time that the Generation of the Anointed, the end of the chosen ones whose numbers were completed in 1935, and the great crowd which also started in 1935, will be the last generation.
The Watchtower Jan 15, 2000, page 13 says, "
Most of the remnant are quite elderly, and over the years the number of those who are truly anointed has been getting smaller. Yet, referring to the great tribulation, Jesus stated: "Unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short." (Matthew 24:21,22) Evidently, then, some of Christ's "chosen ones" will still be on Earth when the great tribulation begins.
And pay attention to the Watchtower's words concerning how the great crowd can be considered worthy to survive Armageddon: Those who do good things for Jesus' "brothers" because these anointed ones are his followers, and have the hope of surviving "the day of Jehovah." (See The Watchtower, September 15, 1997 page 17. )
Let's summarise these Watchtower statements and give our conclusions:
Evidently, some of the anointed will be on the earth when Armageddon begins.
You qualify to have the hope of surviving Armageddon depending on how you treat these anointed ones.
The anointed class ended in 1935. The great crowd class that is to go into paradise earth alive after surviving Armageddon started in 1935.
Those born in 1935 will be 70 in 2005. And of the anointed class - a young anointed individual 20 years of age in 1935 will be 90 in 2005.
So, the generation of the anointed runs out of time by the farthest stretch of the imagination by 2005, and the youngest of the generation of the great crowd who were given the new hope of surviving Armageddon will be at least 70 years old in 2005. Watchtower time is quickly running out!
Jehovah's Witnesses are even taking the Watchtower's reasoning and expanding on it to argue that the 70 years from 1935 to 2005 relates to the creation of Eve.
The Watchtower says that we don't know how long Adam lived prior to the creation of Eve. The delay in the date of Eve's creation was the Watchtower's reason for why Armageddon didn't occur in 1975.
Jehovah's Witnesses are now speculating that since the Society draws a parallel between Adam and Jesus, and since Jesus started to prepare his "wife" (the 144,000 Anointed class) at the age of 30, there is a possibility that Adam also received his wife at the age of 30.
Since 1975 marked 6000 years from the creation of Adam, that would point to 2005 as the end of 6000 years from the creation of Eve. The seventh 1,000 years is Jehovah's rest day and is just around the corner according to the Watchtower's calculations. The Generation of the Anointed and of the Great Crowd of 1935 is about to expire
Are we really in the last generation that will terminate by 2005? Every one of the previous expiry dates given by the Watchtower has already gone bad, and we can be sure that this date, too, will come and go. Soon the Watchtower will once again be forced to change the 'due date' of the last generation.
Did God make a mistake or did the Watchtower insert themselves into God's Word? If they are wrong about these things, what else are they be wrong about?"
So here we have it--again! The Watchtower Society is about to be a false prophet--again! This will be another false prophecy to add to their century and more of false prophecies. The truth is, Christ is really coming again for those who love and serve Him. We pray Jehovah's Witnesses will forsake this false prophet organisation and their counterfeit Jesus, and turn to the real Jesus Christ of Scripture and be saved!
UPDATE! The Watchtower Society is back-peddling already on the above hints of 2005. This date is getting too close for comfort--yet again! Their December 15/03 Watchtower, page 14, is now dropping broad hints for 120 years (i.e. Noah preached for 120 years before the flood came) which would push back the Armageddon date to 2034. (1914 + 120 = 2034) .Here we go again!

Yes, it states in Revelations that 144,000 men will enter heaven.....
A couple thoughts....
1) These numbers were typically used symbolically in John's time... I doubt that 144,000 will be the exact male population count of heaven.
2) Many men I know, wouldn't call it heaven if there were absollutely no women there. (I know my husband would call it hell if I weren't there.) Could you imagine what a bunch of men would do... all alone... ok- even if one of them was God, and the rest were "righteous"?? So often, women have a civilizing, refining effect on the men who are around them.
3) Jehovah's Witnesses teach that Jesus has already come- that He is already governing the earth from heaven. I kinda question that, since many of the signs that are to precede (come before) His return haven't happened yet... I think they're kind of putting the cart before the horse.
4) Jesus has said that those who convert and follow him are adopted into the house of Israel- they become as if they were always to be heirs of all Jesus has. Hence, the population that God considers "the House of Israel" is more a definition of belief than a bloodline.
5) God is merciful. He judges people on what they know, what they had the opportunities to learn. The JW leadership believes that the 144,000 is a literal number, and that it applies to their early members. Who's fault is that?... I don't know, and I'm glad I don't have to make that choice. I'll let God do it, thanks.
As I've said in the past, there's a number of things I don't understand about their teachings...
I heard a rumor (unfounded so don't quote me on this...) that they teach that currently, all mankind will go to hell, because all 144,000 spots are filled by previous memebers of the JW church. Think about that for a moment... Yeah, I don't get it either, but that's ok- it's their choice to continue to follow a faith that tells them that even though they continue to do the best they can, they won't get into heaven...
Apparently, human history has been on a detour from what God intended for aobut 6000 years, since Adam and Eve ate the Forbidden Fruit.... I agree that God would like for us to not suffer, but there is certain educational value to much of our suffering- some people are too dumb to learn without experience.... and the conesequential suffering. Their ideology that we're not experiencing what God wanted for us seems to imply that God isn't all-knowing.
Oh, well, I live in America, where everyone is allowed to believe what they wish, so long as they obey the laws.
BTW- If anyone is JW, and is offended, I appologize for that offense. It is not intended. Please correct my understanding of your beliefs if what I've written is wrong.

danni_d2 this ones for you. You are right, in no other place are the 12 tribes listed in this combination or order, but there is a reason.
This is one that I will give you a hint on - the tribes are different because God not only writes on the surface, but also in the words themselves. These are little nuggets of God's glory tucked inside the words themselves.
This is one thing that the cults always get wrong. They use the english defination of the word used instead of going to the Hebrew or Greek to find out what is actually being said.
There are also statements within statements.........search it out & I will help you if you want.
The 144,000 are Israel.

I find it very interesting how these answers to your supposed ligh exposing darkness, are such experts on Jehovah's Witnesses bneliefs yet full of ignorance, which they blurt out as if these were total facts, even the questioner using the name light exposes darkness is trying to imply knowledge of truth yet is far from it ,do you not realise that even Satan is in the Bible is said to masquerade as an angel of light2Corinthians11:14)? And Satan also pretending to be an angel of light, does not show up the light, but tries darken
it with false allegations. Satan as the father of the lie slandered the most high God lying to Adam and Eve about God's intentions to get them to join him in rebellion toGod and his agents work in a similar way, today against God's people.

ok, im not a jehovah's witness but my mother is and i was studying to be one for some time and to this day i still attend the meetings, and first off, the 144,000 are not only consisted of men, there are also women in this group, and they do not have to be virgin, im pretty sure that there are quite a few who are married. also, when it says 144,000 will enter heaven, this does not mean that everyone else will die. basically what it is saying is that, 144,000 of His followers will serve with Jesus in Heaven by his side. The rest of His followers will be living in a paradise on Earth after the armagedon. ok so im not really sure i believe in all of this, but i do respect others beliefs and i have been studying this religion (not cult) for 10 years now, so when i hear you saying all this junk, well it pisses me off because youre the one who thinks that you will either go into heaven or hell when you die and you are the one who believes that when a child dies, its because God wanted him or her to....

You have no idea....
Firstly the twelve tribes mentioned in Revelation chapter 7 are refer to spiritual Israel for several valid reasons. The listing does not match that of natural Israel found at Numbers chapter 1.Also Jerusalem's temple and priesthood and all the tribal records of natural Israel were permanently destroyed, lost forever, long before John had his vision in 96CE.But more important, John received his vision upon a background of the developments from and after Pentecost 33CE.In the light of such events John's vision of those standing on the heavenly mount Zion with the Lamb(whom natural Israel had rejected),revealed the number of this spiritual Israel of God to be 144,000,"bought from among mankind".(Rev.7:4,14:1,4).
Secondly the fact that these 144,000 are 'virgins' does not mean that members of this class are necessarily unmarried in the flesh. The apostle Paul wrote to Christians who had a heavenly calling, that whereas, there are advantages to Christian singleness, marriage is preferable under certain circumstances.(1Cor.7:1,2,36,37).What characterizes this class is a spiritual virginity. They have avoided spiritual adultery with worldly politics and with false religion(James4:4;Rev.17:5)As the betrothed bride of Christ, they have kept themselves pure,"without a blemish in among a crooked and twisted generation"(Phil.2:5).
All these of the anointed class must remain faithful to death. This ingathering started at Pentecost 33CE,in the upper room where the 120 faithful disciples were anointed with God's holy spirit as it came as tongues of fire above each ones head. There were men and women present in that upper room.
In 1Cor chapter 6 verses 9 -11,the apostle Paul addressing these ones refers to some of them as being....idolaters,drunkards,men kept for unnatural purposes, etc.Paul finished by saying:"And yet that is what some of you were. But you have been washed clean, but you have been sanctified..."
JEHOVAHS WITNESSES USE THE BIBLE AS THE ONLY SOURCE FOR ALL THEIR BELIEFS.THEY DO NOT SOLICIT MONEY NOR DO THEY RECEIVE PAYMENT FOR THEIR SERVICE.WE ARE NOT LIARS AND THIEVES.
YOU REALLY NEED TO GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!!!!!!!!

If you had done ANY real research, you would have seen that the 12 tribes listed in Revelation are different from the original tribal listings in the old testament.
If they are different, how could they possibly both refer to literal Israel?
Grab a reference Bible and a hobby. You might actually learn something.

My difficulty with Jehova Witness perception, if this is in fact what is taught, is that -as believers and readers of the BIBLE, how can you dismiss the entire section on JESUS who died for our sins? Can you leave out the New Testament and have a Bible based religion? NO. To reject the most important part of the Bible-the significance of Christ, is to say the scriptures are false and a lie. If one believes this, why open the BIBLE at all and use any of it? What about the cucifixion time when Jesus says to another being crucified ( a thief) surely today you will see paradise? He is allowed in. He is forgiven.

--YOUR LITERAL FARCE --is not accurate, FOR Joseph was not one of the original tribes of Israel.
--WHY DON'T you leave it up to Jehovah God & Christ as to who is going to be saved?
--MY GOODNESS, you have described what your churches have been doing with the poor peoples monies etc.--for centuries!
--Sounds like you do not like us, that is sad because you have called over 6 million ministers of both God & Jesus liars!
--HOW MANY have you interregated to come to that conclusion!
--WHERE DO YOU GET such hatred, IN Church?

Jehovah's Witnesses are liars? Tell me, did your pastor tell you that Jesus was born in the dead of winter in late December? Did you pastor tell you that God is a 3-headed trinity? Did your pastor neglect to tell you that the cross is a pagan symbol that predates Christianity by thousands of years? Did your pastor tell you that a loving God tortures people for an eternity in a hellfire? Did your pastor tell you that holidays like Christmas, Easter, and Halloween were "Christian" even though they are rooted in paganism?
Before you accuse Jehovah's Witnesses of anything, check first the things you are being taught.

First, it isn't spelled Jehovia.. Learn how to spell before you try to bash what someone else believes in. Second, who are you to judge? Are you the final word in who goes to heaven and who goes to hell?
So what if they believe something different from you? Does it matter to your salvation at all if they believe what they do?
NO WHERE in Revelation does it say that the men are virgins!! I just read it to be sure, so I know for sure.. here's the whole chapter so you can educate yourself more...
1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
5 Of the tribe of auda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.
6 Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nepthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.
7 Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.
8 Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.
9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
Told you!! See no where does it say virgins. Did John say the words Jehovah Witness- or did he say non-believers?? Reading things into scriptures that you wish were there is never a good idea.
You spelled LIAR wrong too!!
