The question pretty much explains it. I have a hard time keeping up a conversation on the phone, and quite often there's this long silence, and basically we end up just kind of listening to each other breathe. What kind of things could you sit and talk about? What kind of questions could I ask to get to know him better? 'Cause we've basically gone through every question we could think of. ^^;
It's even harder, since he's my boyfriend, and it's easier to talk with girls, because there's a wider aray of things to talk about.

Well, It's not exactly scrambling for something to say, we usually just like-- watch the same thing on television, and talk about that.
And it's not neccesarily an awkward silence.
I just like talking to him, and sometimes it's a boring day, and there's really nothing to talk about.

i'm a guy and have this problem too. I have had a girlfriend for three years now and it hasn't changed, but i have come to the conclusion that i just don't like talking on the phone. I am completly comfortable in person with her and we are never at a loss for conversation. I can talk about things that need to be talked about (where u at?; what are you doing?; lets meet) but besides that im not the type that can hold a conversation on the phone. I even find myself annoyed when long-winded people call me and keep me tied up. Anyways, i was just offering up that maybe your not a big phone conversation person...something to think about...

See, I really don't like the phone. I open up much more when writing, so I guess it's only natural that IM my boyfriend more than talk to him on the phone. But the silences aren't so bad. Sometimes I like listening to him breathe when I'm trying to fall asleep. I'd just rather he was there when I went to bed at night. Most times we just talk about our days, and tell stories to each other about our lives. The trick is you have to be comfortable with each other. The silences aren't so awkward and you're not scrambling to find something to talk about.

Don't sweat this. Sometimes there just isn't anything to say. But don't hang on the phone with the guy if you have nothing to say: it's like hes' a crutch you're unwilling to walk without. Ask him how his day was, if he feels like talking, he will. If not, his answers will be real short. This is a clue for you to tell him you'll talk to him later. But be nice about it. Guys don't talk like girls do, so don't get hung up on this.

Some samples to keep it going: What did you have for dinner? What color shirt did you wear today---I forgot. Is that your favorite shirt? If not, which one is? How was gym class today? How do you feel about that? Oh, Lord, I'm shivering. Do you find it cold or is it just me? Well, oakey-dokey. I'd better get off the phone. Haven't done my math homework. See you tomorrow..

If you want a boyfriend so bad, then I highly recommend following this https://tinyurl.im/aH0eT Since you've never dated or been kissed before, it's going to be hard to get a boyfriend if you don't know what to do but once you know what to do, you'll be able to get a boyfriend pretty easily and can share your dating stories with your friends and experience those feelings yourself. You'll even be able to attract guys you might feel is out of your league. I suggest going on a bunch of dates before choosing one guy to be your boyfriend. Have fun.

don't treat your boyfriend like a boyfriend..treat him like a friend...talk to him about personal things..everything....tell him about something you heard today...have some discussion..not everything has 2 be "Who are you?...What do you do?"....having a boyfriend is like having a 2nd bestfriend...just talk to him...if you trust him..and he trusts u...there's nothing u guyz cant talk about
