I would like to begin teaching online college classes. What educational requirements do I need? What are some good resource sites for finding jobs and networking with others with the same interests?

Thanks Toronto, but I'm not impressed with your claimed internet identity, you are obviously unemployed or underemployed to have that kind of free time.

I'll see if I can help you both out.

JT - You will need a minimum of a regionally accredited masters degree, relevant work experience, and 18 graduate credits in the area you would like to teach. Preferrably, a doctorate and teaching experience.

Sites to check out:

A networking group of about 400 part time faculty members, many of whom teach online sections also.

The Chronicle of HIgher Education

Tarantto - I would recommend these sites:

www.careerbuilder.com
www.mcdonalds.com/employment

I'd give you advice -- but you said you don't want advice from Yahoo! answers or someone who has answered over 5000 questions.

I suppose the fact that I have a Master's from Duke, a PhD from Berkeley and have taught at MIT & Wharton wouldn't give me any credibility either.
