Hair color question? Help?

Question

I am extremely confused about my hair color.

People tell me I have dark brown hair but...

1) My hair looks black (maybe a bit lighter.).
2) When I hold my hair up to the light (sun, fluorescent, etc...) I see gold streaks, brown streaks and red streaks.

Am I brunette?

Help, because I can never answer this hair question :)

Anything darker than blonde is considered a brunette. It sounds like you have some lovely highlights to your hair! Try boosting them with the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette hair care line. It smells like Ralph Lauren Safari perfume and works great. Avoid the newer Sunsilk Brunette line- I've been using it this week and I don't like it nearly as much. Rock on, fellow brunette!

Yeah, I'm the same. My hair is brown in the sun, but black anywhere else. I say I'm brunette, what else could you be? Black-headed?

If your colour is fading out that quick, you're in general utilising a semi everlasting colour or demi everlasting colour.
