Soul-mates are non-existent. Thinking one can be a soul-mate for you dismisses every other person in the world.
Example, what if one marries a "soulmate" and then shortly after marriage "soulmate" dies?
For unmarried people, all people unmarried need to be appreciated for being possible friends and marriage partners.
It is the hopeless romantic who lives in a fantasy where "soulmates" exist who is setting himself up for disappointment.
It is love per se that loves, not the person.
And all people can love and be loved.

Why not? You have just as good a grasp on what a soul mate is than anyone else. None of us are good at love.

I'm sorry to say this but I don't think so. I think that you don't find the person for you in an early age. When you are 15-19 you think he is the one but that's not real love. When you least expect it you will find it. One thing I learned is don't look for love let it come to you and you will find the right one. But right now enjoy your youth.

It depends if you believe that it's possible, My mom and dad met in Elementary school! and grew up staying together and had me and my brother, however they divorced at 25 years old. so I don't know about a "soul mate" but, it could happen :-)
