If just one student, professor, janitor or secretary had had a gun this would have ended aburptly. The only way this madness will end is for Americans to defend themselves. Dems/Libs answer this question for me. Why did this guy choose a dorm/class room to do his rampage and not Security, a police station or a gun show?

Why no interest in this question? Bias?

So far only one Dem/Lib answer and it is only half hearted. Their silence speaks volumes.

Thanks for all the great responses.

I wonder all the time! I guess it is to large a leap of imagination for most people to think that you can use the same weapons that criminals use to defend yourself.Self defense is the only excuse to kill someone without having to serve prison time or worse, but you have to have something to defend yourself with. I know most Liberals would scratch the eyes of the criminals when they are attacked, but
unfortunately bullets travel faster than most of us can scratch anything.
In a gun show most criminals would not stand a chance. Most gun owners are well informed citizens
who are in charge of their lives's responsibilities and do not want to be casualties while they wait for the police to come to their rescue.
I am glad that there are some logical, practical, intelligent people like you out there . I was starting to feel a little hopeless reading the thoughts ( I guess you can call it that) of a lot of simple minded do gooders.

A private citizen can get a permit to carry a concealed weapon where I live but it wouldn't do any good in situations like VT, because you can't carry those guns in schools or government buildings. There should be something that can be done, however, even if it's passing a federal law giving every school in the country a security guard or policeman - armed of course.

Let's face it...we are not going to get rid of guns in the U.S. The problem with ever-increasing gun laws, which was demonstrated perfectly (and horribly) in VA, is that it binds the hands of law-abiding citizens so that they are unable to defend themselves.
Here is a link to some news that you probably won't see...
it's an article showing how the University trumped state law and continued to ban state law by not allowing firearms on campus.
My favorite quote is from Larry Hinker when he said,"In an academic environment, we believe you should be free from fear".
The problem is that they created an environment that is free from your ability to defend yourself.

your right, if someone was armed and knew how to use it, the toll would have been less no doubt.

Its the same reason armed robbers wait until a store is empty to strike - especially in a right to carry state. when the bad guy knows normal people are packing - they get real jittery.

How about 9/11? if someone on each of the planes was armed - would it turn out different? i think so.

nicely I in simple terms had to assert that the form you're phraseology your question :"people, and 9 out of 10 of them are entire morons"....this is relatively complicated to no longer take it for my area. i might choose to remind you that this communicate board isn't an extremely precise representation of the yankee inhabitants, so which you would be able to desire to, a minimum of, narrow down your scope to people on YA. protecting being an American is an extremely American element to do, this is spoke of as Patriotism.

Yeah, just imagine the road rage results when everyone is armed. Why just have a few nuts running around with guns? Let's give them to everyone.

If guns kill people, then pencils misspell words, cars make people drive drunk, and spoons made Rosie O'Donnel fat...the issue is not guns, the issue is LACK OF SELF RESPONSIBILITY...
