I'm talking about the cops in rich white areas where nothing bad ever happens and they don't have anything better to do than make a mountain out of a mole hill and try to act entirely macho. Cops who actually fight crime have my respect and admiration and thanks.

Extremely annoying. Our "town" is located in a larger urban area that could easily be served by the county. I know a county DA who told me that if I ever get murdered I should make sure it doesn't happen in my town because they are all morons. Nothing ever happens here, yet we have an entire "detective bureau."
They also just got a brand new dodge charger patrol car to catch all the maniacs who don't have front license plates on their cars.
They are a wasted of money and space.

We are pretty annoying aren't we. First off there usually isn't any Dunkin Donuts shops in upscale neighborhoods so we start off the day disgruntled. Then some rich person calls 911 to report that their neighbors dog just took a healthy dump on their lawn and they want the police to respond immediately. Then when you get done with the poop caper another well to do resident calls 911 and says they just saw a black man drive down the street they live on send someone quick. When we get done with the black man caper another one of our fine resident's calls and say's her Mexican gardener pruned her rose bush too short and she want's him removed from the property. Now that it's almost eight oclock in the morning and I'm working a 7 to 3 shift I'm feeling it's about time for breakfast. I'm heading over to the local diner and as I'm pulling into the parking lot I get a call, "Respond back to the home of the pooping dog caper, the resident is now stating that the dog is back and urinating on the lawn" 10-4. After that's all said and done and I've missed breakfast but it's still a bit too early for lunch I run into a character like you on a traffic stop. I stop you for speeding (40 in a 25 mph, school zone) your attitude immediately is "why don't you find some real criminals and do some real police work, and stop harrasing us regular folk" It's about that time when I figure my day isn't going to get any better so I lay the traffic ticket on you, give you a little attitude and send you on your merry way. "DO YOU GET IT NOW"

Around here, the rich, white neighborhoods are where the majority of the home invasion robberies and burglaries occur. Every area in a city has crime.

In the city I live in, if someone gets pulled over and they decide to search the vehicle, you will see at least 6 cop cars come to join the fun....I know it can be ridiculous, but I would rather see that, than a bunch of criminals running our city. I feel very safe where I live and I can walk the streets at night without worrying that something might happen.

Sometimes law enforcement can be over zealous but as a general rule they just do what they are paid to do unless they are at the dough-nut shop...

Ummmm...well the cops in my neighborhood...like the one you described...only mess with those they don't know that are breaking the law.

We like it that way....keeps those out of our area that don't belong.

Just because you're not busy, doesn't mean you don't have anything else better to do. You either respect the uniform of all, or none. Save your thanks, it wasn't sincere.
