Your statement is not totally fair. It's just like a little child and his parents; the child goes running when there is a problem and that is the way it should be. Your question makes God seem kind of selfish. He wants us to enjoy life when we can because the hard times are soon enough here. We dont "put him in the trunk" anymore than the child does.

Well, for the most part we shouldn't just use God like a spare tire!! God wants more than just hi I need you and good bye I am find on myown again.... but we need to strenght our relationship with him, speak, pray and praise him even when we have no prayer requests. Just keep that connection ALIVE and share your day, thoughts struggles and time you like to have knowing him more.... We just need to make this relationship grow and put effoert on our side because God has already given us his efforts!!!

I don't know about you, but I use a spare tire as a spare tire. And I use God as God, which is to say, a Bronze Age explanation for natural phenomena and means to maintain social order.

People get caught up in the world around them. Not realizing the seriousness in the Word of God. The Bible was written for sinners. Not a lot of people care. Sometimes I am ashamed of my own self.
This is to NONE up there above me.......FireFire
Atheists suck!! See what I mean ? Shame shame shame.

They're afraid of the reality of death. God is they're saftey blanket. They'll bring him out every once in a while to show his (false) presence, and to explain things they're too dumb to understand, or something thats understandable by complicated science that they deny is correct, or claim to be irrational and/or against the rules of their imaginary friend. Science is pretty straight forward, but religion is a unsolvable puzzle. You decide what you want to believe in more.

How about lack of knowledge.

Read the Bible, study the Bible, discuss the Bible, learn and live accordingly.

Take it seriously, take the time to stop, think and find out which path to follow into eternity, Hell or Heaven, there is no other options!

Soli Deo Gloria

Because god's total worth is less than that of a spare tire.
Forget the fairy tales and get a life.

Human nature is to be self reliant, and long to do as we please!
but when we stumble ,and we always do, the call for help goes, out some pick God ,others use dope, physicians, sports, or other means to cope. It.s just our nature..

Actually my spare tire hangs on the undercarriage of my gas-guzzling, ozone-depleting, global-warming SUV.
