Microsoft Works word Processor?

I need tpo type a letter in french for my french class. everytime i type a french word a red squiggle line appears under all the words. how can i get it to stop and is there a way to get a "French" Works word processor that has a French dictionary?

1. If Works is anything like Word, you can get rid of the red squiggles by clicking Tools, Options, click the Spelling & Grammar tab. See if there is an option to check spelling as you type. If it has a checkmark in it - remove it.

2. I don't know about a French dictionary, but if you are absolutely sure of the spelling of the words you want to use, you can add them to the "custom" dictionary. Type a paragraph, then go to the top of file and click Tools, Spelling & Grammar. Run a spell check. If it stops on a correctly-spelled word, click Add.

I don't know the capability of Works at all, but in Word you could create your own custom dictionary. It might be a good idea for you to get a book or two on Works.

You can turn off the background spell checking by clicking TOOLS then OPTIONS and uncheck the "background spell checking" option.

If you're sure on the spelling, right click and choose ADD from the menu and you won't see an underline again because the word will be added to the dictionary.

I believe that you can add other dictionaries, but I don't know where to get them. I'd check at the Microsoft website.
