even if you are a minor you are protected by confidetitality laws, which only allows psycholgists to tell your parents or anyone else if you are suicidal or homicidal, basically only if you are planning to kill yourself or someone else, they are not allowed to disclose anything else you tell them even if you or your girlfriend is pregnant

Don't let anyone worry you. Psychologists are bound by the law and a code of ethics. The Psychologist is there for you. No matter what a parent or friend may tell you otherwise. That is someone's way of being nebby or trying to get you not to talk. A family member tried to play that game with a grandchild and it didn't work.

Until 18, the psychologist can & probably will give a diagnosis & treatment recommendation to your parents if they ask. The psychologist will not give details that are revealed during sessions. This is the ethic rules taught.
Good luck & do not miss a chance for help. Explain your concerns to your parents if you can & if not talk to the psychologist about your concerns.

a good psychologist will respect you and not tell your secrets unless you're planning to hurt yourself or someone else. the only thing they should be telling your parents would be along those lines... they shouldn't be talking about what you told them behind closed doors, 17 or not. if they are, then find a new psychologist because the one you have sucks.

No! They are not allowed to tell anyone unless they believe you are a danger to yourself or someone else.

Only if you're doing something illegal or dangerous to your or others' health. Otherwise he/she is a poor excuse for a confidant(e).
