Yes. Many people believe that Jesus would have married and had a family, as was the custom among Jewish people of his time. There was a real expectation that having a family was a duty and responsibility ("be fruitful and multiply"). Besides that, Jesus was called "Rabbi" and in that day and time a rabbi was not just someone knowledgeable of the Scriptures, but was also a married man of certain mature years. I'm not saying that Jesus *was* married and had children, only that in ancient Israel to be a grown man who never married would have been seen as shirking one's moral duty. And to have been childless would have been seen as a misfortune, maybe even as God's curse. But aside from all of that, who are we to try to tie God's hands and say how it had to have been with Jesus?
As for the way in which some people rely utterly and completely on science? Well, it is their religion, that is to say the way in which they try to make sense of the universe around them. Western society has promoted the idea that the only things which are real are those things which can be tested in a laboratory. Sadly, this leaves little room for non-scientific concepts like love, hope, beauty, compassion, forgiveness, and so on. These are things of the spirit. Not to say that non-spiritual people do not experience them, but they do so without a scientific explanation for these concepts. Science and spirituality are not at odds. They are two ways of talking about the same things; like a science text and a book of poetry.

In the beginning of creation, God declared that creatures would bring forth "after their own kind." Divine kind and human kind are not alike, so why would someone who is divine have a child with someone who is human?
Jesus came to earth for a specific purpose, which did not include having children, regardless of what The DaVinci Code said. There is no record in the canonical Gospels that Jesus had either a wife or a child.
Jesus had nothing against marriage. His first miracle, changing water into wine, occurred at a marriage feast.
But that was not why 'the Word became flesh and dwelled among us.'
Besides, as someone once asked, "What kind of man would woo a woman, knowing that he would have to leave her soon afterward?"

1) yes, however, there is simply no proof of this, that Jesus was married or had children. The Da Vinchi Code is some fact mixed with a LOT of fiction.
2) many people are unable to make that small leap of faith to consider the possibility that there may be more than just what we see, and mistakenly believe that human intelligence and reason is infallible. So many people will never know anything beyond what they see with their own two eyes, it's sad.

Jesus was a natural man, born of a man and a woman. His divinity is based in the fact that he was chosen by God and carried the spirit of God to such a degree that he and the Father were "one". Procreation is not a sin, it is a commandment and I can't think of any other prophet or messenger who didn't have a family. Just because it is not written in the Bible that he had a family. The Gospels were written years after his death and may not be all there is to know about him.

No I don't. He was not man as you or me. His thoughts were not the same as ours. He is God. Just think of what your thoughts are or were when you were pursuing a woman. He is God - not sinful man.
Just the fact that there is no reference to a woman interest in his life and considering the short life he had, blows that belief up. He traveled all over the region for the entire written record of his life. And really, why does it matter? Take the Word as it is written rather than believe heresy.

Jesus falling in love and having children takes nothing away from the wonderful things he taught. Tried to teach. I like to think he did get to fall in love with someone and that someone fell in love with him. Life for him would have been hard, sad. If he had someone special to care for him and love it would have made things easier. If he did have a child, I'm guessing it would be better for the descendants if no one knew who they were. His descendants would be in danger if it was known who they were. From so many different people.

Well his father in heaven impregnated Mary and had a son and that doesn’t seem to bother the Christians. But when the son does the same it’s unacceptable and a sin. Go figure.

Teachers and priests in the Judaic ancient times were required to be married by age 30 before they could perform their duties.
Jesus Christ was a teacher and a rabbi, right? It makes sense to me.

I s'pose he could....but wives and children were considered to be possessions in Jesus' day....Jesus owned nothing so that he could belong entirely to the Father -- and depend entirely on the Father to provide for him....
