Unless God was actually there shooting people then he isn't responsible...
God gave us all free will when he created us, so he's not responsible for our actions...
And you're right, the bomb threats could have been God-influenced as a warning...they ignored it
Anyone who blames God for what someone else did...is being truly ignorant and merely trying to find someone to blame...

It really strains credulity -- on one hand you want a sky fairy and on the other you want to blame that lofty spirit when something goes wrong. You really can't have it both ways. God is blameless, it's all our doing. Remember the old battle cry of the faithful -- "Free Will" -- gives God a loophole for infectious diseases, birth defects, and crappy things happening to good people. How this makes sense I'll never know but you might ask a priest, he will be happy to explain it to you. Personally, I think you should ask a priestess for a little bigger perspective in an already highly constrained field of inquiry.
But I like your question (which is why I bothered to answer it in the first place). I like the concept of actually blaming God - this is kind of novel. Can we petition the Lord with our grievances? Should we demand specific performance? I think so, yes. There is the thought experiment that if we got all the faithful together and they earnestly prayed for, say, a cure for cancer, shouldn't God deliver? If He doesn't, then is prayer useless? I submit it is. I leave the speculation of the existence of a deity to others, but I would humbly point out that if such a deity exists, and that is one almighty IF, then what makes us (you) think that such a creator of 13.7 billion years of time cares about us or even knows we exist as individuals?

God didn't do it, but maybe he allowed it to happen. for many reasons. Look at 9/11 the Church's have never been so full, this is what it takes to get people to church sadly. Then so may people live for themselves and there is idolatry and murder and all the crap that we have done to our nation, how can God protect us if we are living like pagans. Why should God protect us. Then I also believe that Jesus is coming soon and these are Gods warnings that people need to start getting serious and accept Jesus because he is coming back soon. All this is in the book of revelation. People always blame God, but when does anyone ever blame the devil? the devil is the one that comes to kill, steal and destroy. So this is all an act of the devil, but God allows it because of our sin. again, how can God protect us when we don't live for him?

Listen I'm no fan of God as anyone on here can tell you, but I think people have completely lost their mind on this issue. Yes it was horrible, yes it shouldn't happen, but why look to blame an invisible man that isn't doing anything anyway?
I mean come on this God hasn't lifted one finger to stop any mass murder. This God doesn't do anything to feed starving children. This god doesn't do anything to keep a woman from being raped. This God doesn't do anything to protect a child from abuse. And you think this God would all the sudden do something? Get real!!!
The problem is it is far to easy for stupid crazy people to get their stupid crazy hands on high power weapons! NOTE: I didn't say it was the weapons fault! IT IS THE IDIOT BEHIND THE TRIGGER! But He's dead so at least we didn't have to deal with him finding Jesus after the fact as if that would change anything!

Nobody was prepared for something like this, how would they have gotten that out of a bomb threat. My school always got bomb threats. None of them ever happend, nothing ever became of them.
God does allow evil in the world. Remember the Book of Job, I am not saying I blame God but yes he allows things to happen, nor am I saying I don't.
God does allow bad things to happen to good people

So God goes from sending Moses to specifically tell Pharoe to let the Hebrews go, and send a plauge every time he says no, to calling in bomb threats over the phone to tell them someone's going to kill people with a gun eventually.
You know that's a good point. I bet when my dog farted it was a warning that the price of gas was going up again and I should top off my tank. Thank you so much for your insight, especially pointing out that it was basically their own fault for being shot at.

Did God call in the bomb threats? This is news to me.
I think people have free will. I don't think God had any bearing on making bomb threats. God doesn't play with people from above like they are dolls. God gives life and with it free will. If you want to blame him for giving free will which caused someone to make a f-ed up choice, be my guest. I personally don't think God would do something like that to innocent people and their families if he had the power to. I think the people who blame God are just as nutty as the shooter.

One thing before I answer. This is to M_a_h_o......all religions believe in one supreme being, which is God, he may be called by different names, but its the same being. I think you need to inform yourself a little more.
I guess by blaming God, people are finding the easiest excuse for why things happen. But just because God put us on earth doesnt necessarily mean that he should control our behaviour. If thats the case, then there are millions of things that He can be blamed for. We as people, chose our actions, and if we have faith in God, He will show us the right way, if we dont, then we are at liberty at chosing the way of the devil. Many people believe that the devil surrounds us, and its much easier to follow him than God, so no, God is not to be blamed. We as people who commit these crimes are to be blamed for our actions.

Um, NO. God is a binding benevolent force. NOT a 'conscious' being warning people with bomb plots... or even preventing tragedy. The universe maintains balance with positives and negatives in everything... and just as God is a benevolent force there must also be a chaotic malevolent force that rears it's ugly head in different ways.

It is a tradgedy that will forever be remembered as the worst event in the hallowed halls of learning, but I know this is not God's doing. The problem is that a young man was embittered by life, and did not have anyone he felt he could reach out to. He seperated himself from God, and from others, and no man can be an island unto himself. If you ever recognise these symptoms in someone you know, go to those who are able to help right away before another human tragedy takes a loved one.
