Its amazing how brave people are with a gun in their hand to protect them from their fellow Americans what a safe modern society you live in.
To the man below I live Australia and I don't know where your statistics from but I have never seen a gun except strapped to a police mans side.We have one of the lowest crime rates in the world but if it is growing we can blame the drug Ice and not the lack of guns.

You are correct that nukes are illegal in the hands of individuals. You are wrong about tanks and grenades. These can be owned but under the title 2 destructive device class. You have to be cleared by God and everyone else but they are allowed. So are real machine guns, not " just media automatic weapons".
I am glad that retired Police, Security and Armed forces can carry concealed firearms in all the 50 US states.This country gained tens of thousands of armed volunteers to help society when this law passed 2 years ago. That's Federal, not State. Your just a little weak on facts and real long on emotion.
Flee this terrible country and go to other places that are much safer and enjoy more freedoms with no crime etc. Then call and let me know where that's at. While killing is tragic, a human did the killing and you just don't like the choice of weapons. Would plastic explosives be better. They are about as readily available as guns, for those that are criminals.

NRA Inbreds? Seriously, show a little more maturity than that could you please! Yesterdays incident happened because of one mans decision. No it is not the 1800's nor is it the wild wild west, if it had been he most likely wouldn't have waltzed right in there and taken that many lives, he would have known that he was not the only armed man there. Perhaps, that might would have prevented him to a certain extent. Take away a mans right to bear arms and people like the young man who did the horrible thing will be the only ones with guns. There will always be people running a black market and breaking the law.

Let me try to explain something to you. This guy who killed 32 people in V-Tech was a student. V-Tech does not allow students carry guns. But you know what? HE STILL DID!!!
Why? Because when you're a criminal, it's easy to get what you want, even if it isn't allowed.
On the other hand, a law-abiding student couldn't have a gun, and therefore the students had no way of defending themselves. Let me assure you, if there had been a girl with a gun in her purse or a guy carrying a pistol, that madman would have been shot like the dog he was and 32 innocent people wouldn't be dead right now.

This is what happened in Australia when they banned guns (from law-abiding citizens).
"Though lawmakers responsible for passing the ban promised a safer country, the nation's crime statistics tell a different story:
Countrywide, homicides are up 3.2 percent;
Assaults are up 8.6 percent;
- Amazingly, armed robberies have climbed nearly 45 percent;
In the Australian state of Victoria, gun homicides have climbed 300 percent;
In the 25 years before the gun bans, crime in Australia had been dropping steadily;
There has been a reported "dramatic increase" in home burglaries and assaults on the elderly.
At the time of the ban, which followed an April 29, 1996 shooting at a Port Arthur tourist spot by lone gunman Martin Bryant, the continent had an annual murder-by-firearm rate of about 1.8 per 100,000 persons, "a safe society by any standards," said Tidswell. But such low rates of crime and rare shootings did not deter then-Prime Minister John Howard from calling for and supporting the weapons ban. "
'nuff said...

what is B...... one crazy student who was obvoius nuts, but protected by his rights,
I guess he could have taken household cleaners and some other things and just made a bomb and took out more.
You have banned the drugs and I know that means that no criminal has illegal drugs today right ??
in guns were banned only crooks would have them.
In years only one case of a person with a valid carry permit has ever done a crime with thier weapon, it is not the guns it is the people,
So what other rights to you want to take away, first admendment, maybe the 5th admendment.

I can understand your frustration and point of view. But in reality, if someone has illegal intentions, they probably wouldn't get a gun through "legal" means anyway. So, banning guns wouldn't change anything, unfortunately.
I am a licensed handgun carrier and have taken safety & training courses in how to use them. I safely carry and hope to never be in the position where I have to protect the ones I love, but I'm confident in knowing that I can.
Knowledge is power. :)

"Truthspeaker"?? Might want to reconsider that handle to something more appropriate, like "sheeptalker"
You, like so many of your liberal brothers, are blaming the tool. That's easy isn't it. That way you do not have to look at the person who did the crime and figure out what could have been done to control his demons. You don't have to look at any root causes of crime or mental illness. You don't have to devote the considerable time and effort to come up with solutions to cure those causes. Like most liberals your thinking is lazy.
When the mechanic screws up the repair job on your car,do you blame his wrench or do you hold the mechanic responsible?

you sir, are a complete moron. assault weapons are banned, but criminals still find a way to get them. you know what else is banned? drugs, and look how mnay people get a hold of them. just make the criminal's mission even easier, let them have NO fear that anything bad will happen when they come in to rob someone or shoot up a place. law abiding citizens with registered firearms are a good thing, which is why our constitution protects each and every american's right to bear arms.
