It depends on what drugs you're talking about, if you're talking about highly addictive and unsafe drugs like heroin or cocaine, then I'd say no. People can self destruct. If you're talking about marijuana for medicinal purposes I fully support it. Pot has helped many ill patients deal with the side effects of the meds they're on to treat their disease (i.e. chemo pts. who are nauseated by pretty much anything) or the disease process. That is a drug where the benefits outweigh the risks in my opinion.

call me stupid, i really don't care, but i do believe drugs should be legalized and government regulated (as should prostitution, but thats another thing entirely). for one, now people won't be shooting up heroin mixed with dog sh*t and thusly dying from it. people won't be sneaking around back alleys using dirty needles and getting involved with sometimes violent drug deals to get their things. i actually think drug use will go down because some of the thrill will be lost. also, drug intake can be monitored by how much one buys and those with problems can be referred to get help. they can also have classes on proper dosing and side effects and all, so people stop ODing. people also won't be afraid to get help if they do OD because sometimes the thing is "if i go to the hospital because i shot up too much heroin i will get thrown in jail", but not if it's legal.
those are just some of the reasons i've been able to think of over the years, give me a few hours and i'm sure i could pump out a few hundred others, but right now i'm too tired for that.

If you mean legal like cigarettes and alcohol...Wow.... That would be a friggin nightmare.......I'm an ex meth-coke-weed dealer/addict that has been clean for over 4 years.. legalizing drugs such as meth and cocaine and heroine would be a free for all......people using would loose the paranoia of getting busted and more thought would go into burglary....or other crimes to support their habit.....But if legalized by prescription-not too much would change.....It would still be sold as street drugs.........Drugs eventually=crime and or mental instability.........In any case its not good...

It is one thing for adults to make choices, however, there are many vulnerable children in this world. Many laws are also in place to help protect those who cannot yet protect themselves.
Decriminalizing some drugs might make sense and have them controlled and taxed as other substances are.

Not legalized, but not violent users should not be put in prison. Give them help if they need it. Pot should be legal for medical purposes.
