Christianity is all about:
+ Not being afraid of death
+ Undeserving people going to heaven

Christians believe your consciousness may change (for the better) but you will not lose it.

Catholics believe in Purgatory.

Are you perfect now? Most people would say no.

Will you be perfect in heaven? Most people believe yes.

Purgatory (or purgation) is the process of God's love changing our imperfect selves into perfect beings.

Depending on the amount of change needed by different people this can be an easy or slightly harder process.

Everyone in purgatory is on their way to heaven.

I don't think Mother Teresa of Calcutta had a very hard time of it.

With love in Christ.

Don't be afraid, you are not alone even in death.

If by consciousness you mean your soul, it will go directly to heaven if you are a believer in Christ. The Apostle Paul said that to absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
You will be more aware of your surroundings there in heaven than you ever were here.

BTW, we are all undeserving of God's gracious gift of salvation, but God is faithful to His promise to give eternal life to all who place their trust In Jesus.

Also, the doctrine of purgatory is a Catholic doctrine and is not mentioned in the 66 books of the Biblical canon. It contradicts the words of Jesus as He died that the penalty for sin was "paid in full", Catholics believe that the dead must go to this additional place to suffer for and be purged from certain sins.

Firstly, you have every right to go to Heaven.

By the constitution of One Heaven and the divine inspiration of all the angels, that is your absolute right.

Now in contrast, Catholic and especially Catholic PR merchants will say that you will probably go to purgatory. I hope you don't fall for such views, especially when they have never been endorsed by any enlightened scripture.

The reason the Vatican has always promoted purgatory is that it implies a period of service in the nicest sense and in the most evil sense- a period where they have effectively "collected your souls".

The Vatican has always been the greatest "collector of souls", because it gives them tremendous power, like a massive organization of voodoo witch doctors- obsessed in bones, hair, blood and repetitive chants.

This organization has nothing to do with Jesus, nor his apostles, was never formed by them and has no spiritual authority, except the power of fear.

Your fear is what they like and want. Fear is how organizations have controlled people for thousands of years. You have nothing to fear.

Your consciousness ceases when your brain activity ceases.

The only thing to be afraid of is wasting that consciousness while you still have it.
