My hair is thick and curly. I always ware it down, cause if I do wair it any other way my head hurts! Even when I wair a headband! How pathetic is that?
What can I do? Or can I do anything at all?

NO THINNING SHEARS put some layers in there, natrual curly hair is natrual big hair just embrass that. ask if your stylist has chunking shears and ask just to use them where your layers start and in at an angle not to deep in thou. what about a loose braid.

I dont suggest you get it thinned out (thinning shears tear your hair up and leave shorter pieces and makes it easier to tangle) Anyway, I think you should get a really good trim maybe about 2-3 inches off and the reasons are #1 it will lighten your hair up and help with the headaches. #2 it will get the dead ends and make it healthier. Another thing you could try is to get long layers put in it, it will lighten it up and also bring out the curl more and look great. Just a thought

I agree w/ these answers. You should go to a professional hair dresser and ask to have your hair layered and thinned. Both will eliminate the bulk/weight & give your hair some definition.

Yes you can.... let a professional thin it out ( not someone who has never done it before.... one older lady started thinning my hair at the top, which I thought was fishy even though I have no idea about what the rules are in cutting or thinning hairs.... until now parts of my top hair fan out like a peacock's feathers)...... or get a short, but still feminine haircut.

ask your stylist to thin it and out and for other ideas.
for now, take a shower everyday but only shampoo and condition once a week so your hair doesnt get frizzy and use a root uplifting spray.
i dont kno what kind of head bands youve been using but maybe try wear cloth ones instead of plastic ones.
you could also buy a cute hat.
braids and loose ponytails are cute and light on your head too so you may wanna give that a try.

cut it short? i have thick, wavy hair and once it's past my shoulders it gives me headaches as well. I can't even put mine in a pony tail. the only thing i can tell u is go get it thinned out or cut it.

go to a hair doctor thats is what happend to me and i went to the hair doctor and he told me what to do and it worked.
