None of this back door nonsense now. If you say "it wasn't really god talking to her" then you are only admitting that it's not really god talking to you either.

You run into a problem when you tell people that they can't say "It wasn't really God". Part of this problem is in the failure to recognize mental illness. Psychotic people typically hear the voice of God and act on this belief in unpredictable ways.

Other people who claim to have heard the voice of God have done marvelous things and show no signs of pathological behavior.

In the middle are the muddled masses who will say "God told me to call you on the phone today".

In any case, the behavior following the percieved chat with god often tells the tale of the state of a person's mind.

Hi there! I think you have a bit of a non-sequitor going there. Denying that Andrea Yates heard from God does not in and of itself negate my ability to hear from God - one does not necessitate the other.

There is an objective test which one can apply to determine whether or not one is hearing from God:
1. What does the scripture teach? Does the scripture teach that we can kill our children? God, of course, is free to do so seeing as He is their maker, we, however, are not.

Satan is a master at disguise and works in many ways to deceive humankind. Satan thrives on weaknesses of human kind. Those who are saved have the Holy Spirit to lead them. Even they can be deceived at times as well. God did not instruct this women to drown her children. Satan did though.

Its sad that you are taking this and trying to turn it into something other then what it was. The kids died, try putting more time and thought into how they must have felt. Have some heart for the rest of the family. Don't try to make it a debate.

This is just sad.

He promised he wouldn't ever drown us all again.

But he didn't promise that Andrea wouldn't.

He got lonely for the good old days.

Nostalgia can do that to a person.

Right, G-d doesn't talk to anyone. The only people he actually spoke to as Moses and Jesus, and they aren't taking any calls today. The aliens told her to do it.
