armegeddon is a place in the dessert in Israel where the Prophet Daniel and Revelations speaks of the final Battle between Jesus and the anti christ and the nations that follow him. This will be the end of the world as we know it. Once the Battle is won (by Jesus of course), the New Jerusalem will come down from the Heavens and the new earth will exist with Meshiah Yeshua (Jesus the Messiah) reigning as King of Kings.

Armageddon, which means “mountain of Megiddo,” is a valley which will be the site of the final battle in the end times. Armageddon has become known as the battle in which God will intervene and destroy the armies of the antichrist (Revelation 16:16; 20:1-3, 7-10). The exact location of the valley of Armageddon is debated. The most likely possibility is the valley between Mount Carmel and the city of Jezreel. The valley of Armageddon was famous for two great victories in Israel’s history: (1) Barak’s victory over the Canaanites (Judges 4:15), and (2) Gideon’s victory over the Midianites (Judges chapter 7). Armageddon was also the site for two great tragedies: (1) the death of Saul and his sons (1 Samuel 31:8), and (2) the death of King Josiah (2 Kings 23:29-30; 2 Chronicles 35:22).

Because of this history, the valley of Armageddon became a symbol of the final conflict between God and the forces of evil. The word “Armageddon” only occurs in Revelation 16:16, “Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.” This speaks of the kings who are loyal to the antichrist gathering together for a final assault on Israel. In the Book of Revelation, at Armageddon "the cup of the wine of the fierceness of God’s wrath" (Revelation 16:19) will be delivered, and the antichrist and his followers will be overthrown and defeated. The word “Armageddon” has become a general term that refers to the end of the world, not exclusively the battle that takes place in the valley of Armageddon.

Armageddon (Greek αρμαγεδδων; also spelled Har-Magedon in some modern English translations) is a climactic battle between good and evil mentioned in the Book of Revelation in the Christian New Testament, or more generally, an apocalyptic catastrophe.

The word Armageddon in Scripture is known only from a single verse in the Greek New Testament[1], where it is said to be Hebrew, but it is thought to represent the Hebrew words Har Megido (הר מגידו), meaning "Hill of Megiddo". Megiddo was the location of many decisive battles in ancient times (see Battle of Megiddo).

Before the Second World War, the First World War was commonly referred to in newspapers and books as "Armageddon", in addition to "the Great War".

It's a mistranslation of the words "Har Megiddo" or the battle of Megiddo. Megiddo is a place in Israel where a battle is supposed to occur in the days preceding the return of the son of man who some claim is Jesus.

It's simply mythology.

The battle between good and evil. Jesus will come down from Heaven and the dead will rise first and the living that are saved will go into the clouds with Him into Heaven.
