(Isaiah 44:6)
So says Jehovah,
the King of Israel,
and His redeemer Jehovah of Hosts;
I am the first,
and I am the last;
and besides Me
there is no God.

WHAT..... OTHER....... 'pseudo-god' ..... makes this Claim about himself and his people?

Thanks, RR

Well you have a bad translation. Originally, God's name was only consonants YHWH or JHVH depending on the language into which it was translated. But people at the time were NOT to say the name of G_d. So "adonai" meaning "the Lord" was written over the name of God.

In time the vowels of adonai got mixed with the unspeakable consonants for the name of G-D resulting in Yahweh or Jehovah, neither of which are names for G-d.

When Moses asked G-d for a name, the response was "I Am." In Moses' time, the Egyptians ( and Moses was raised as an Egyptian) believed that if you knew the name of a god you controlled that god.

That is the basis of Moses' question, and guess what? It is the basis of your question, too.

GOD is love to make it simple. a nurse conversed with Einstein once and she asked" Didn't God create the garden?" Einstein replied"God IS the garden."This backs up my saying "The universe makes up the body of God." Look at a solar system. It's a atom.Look at a Galaxy, it's a cell.The universe always was (Which is why He is the the first) and it always will be (which is why he is the last). :) The bible says "God binds all things" No scientist can explain a force that binds all molecules together.With out this "force" everything would fly apart.Need I say more?

It all depends on your translation and how you take it....

My Bible says (By the way I use the Jerusalem Bible pre 1966 translation with no inclusive language)

"Thus says Israel's king and his redeemer, Yahweh Sabaoth: I am the first and the last; there is no other God besides me."

Sounds like you are using the New World Translation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

This question reminds bible students of a similar verse...

(Isaiah 43:10) the utterance of Jehovah, “...Before me there was no God formed, and after me there continued to be none.

What is extraordinary is this verse in context...

(Isaiah 43:10-12) “You are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “even my servant whom I have chosen, in order that you may know and have faith in me, and that YOU may understand that I am the same One. Before me there was no God formed, and after me there continued to be none. ...So you are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “and I am God.

My God is your God. Jehovah has unlimited names (one God many names) His original Name is Krishna and He also has unlimited expansions. No one needs to worship the demi gods (Gods superintendents running the material creation) because they get their power from Him. That is the mistake of many Hindus and wickens. What to speak of so many Christians who worship sports pros and stars and musicians. That's all nonsense. But God also has many names like Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, Rama, Ask any follow of Him and they will tell you the names they know of Him.

Well according to your mother, that would be me, judging from the way she was screaming "Oh God!" last night.

I saw someone else leave a lame "sex with your mom" joke in the answer to another question, so I felt the need to make one too.

I am God. If you believe in any other God, you are worshiping evil. I declare that I have no scripture for you to follow, as written scripture defies faith, thus proving that your God is false.
