I read all the way through the Bible many years ago. I read Halley's Bible Handbook alongside of it.

I can honestly say that I have not read the whole bible. I have read a lot of the books but not all of them. Perhaps before I die, I can accomplish this.

I have read it many times. It's long and some of it, like the wisdom books and prophetic books, can be repetitive. The historical books are interesting but can run on. You have to take it slow. I like the psalms. Its like poetry. I suggest reading a modern translation. The 'thee's' and 'thou's' and 'wherefore's' can be quite cumbersome. Like any book the more times you read it, the easier. It would take the average person about a year to read it.

Seven times now. Once in high school, once in college, once a year for the four years I was in seminary, and I am now reading on a track that will have me reading the NT twice and the OT once in 2007.

I have, when I was younger and just recently.
*My Bible was a gift from one of the Christians in this forum. He asked if I would read it. I did.

Your hunger was the catalyst to your being able to understand the Bible. He said the Holy Spirit would lead us and teach us in all thing's.The Spirit is my teacher and through Him I understand what I read.It is a beautiful thing to read.I love the written Word and I love the Word made flesh.

I've read both the OT and the NT in full twice. I've gone back to look certain things up countless times.
(And I'm an atheist.)
