ok....can someone please explain what the **** i have to do to fix the sound !!!!!!!!!?

I called dell......he downloaded the proper software.......then we did a restart and it didn't work again........he wants to restore the computer to the first day we bought it........I'd rather not do that.........if I go to control panel/properties/device mgr, how do I unistall..........and reinstall.......will that work........I only hear sound with windows media player and yahoo music unlimited??

So, you do have sound? But only with windows media player and yahoo music.

This would mean your sound card is working wouldn't it?

What else are you trying to hear? If sounds are not playing while you have wmp or ym playing that is because your sound card can only handle so many channels of sound at once.

Especially using ym.
