usa overthrew the democratically elected government of Iran in the 50's. Installed and propped up a unpopular leader/puppet aka shah. The usa created so much anger in Iran doing this, usa created the right conditions for Islamic theocracy to thrive and thrive hard, where once democracy thrived. Khomeini ( sp ) called usa the great satan during one of his speeches. moral of story, usa quit overthrowing democratically elected governments.
