nothing wrong in killing others to defend your god???? if your god is almighty he doesnt need you to kill in his name, he cannot be threatened...something else is using your god as an excuse to kill others...
killing anyone in any god´s name is an atrocity...or by that are you excusing terrorists??? (twin towers attack, madrid terrorist attack...)

Read Luke 22:36. Jesus instructs His disciples to carry a sword for protection. If there had been guns then, I suppose He would have told them to buy one. And by the way, the right to carry a gun is in the Bill of Rights for a reason: to protect the citizens of this country against the government if it ever became tyrannical or oppressive. It's so that we can have freedom from our government if it gets really bad. Remember the Holocaust? If the citizens of Germany had been armed, Hitler could have never done what he did. Peace.

Maybe because Jesus told his disciples this before He went to Heaven.
Luke 22:35 And he said to them, "When I sent you out with no moneybag or knapsack or sandals, did you lack anything?" They said, "Nothing." 36 He said to them, "But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one.
God isn't against law abiding people having protection from criminals. No where in the Bible does it command that if a robber enters your house and seeks to kill your children and rape your wife that you are supposed to "love" that person and not interfere.
As to Jesus being armed, He didn't need any weapons.
Matthew 26:53 Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels? 54 But how then should the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must be so?"

Self Defense....I'm not sure about the "sooo many Christians agree......" but I think guns should only be used for self-defense if at the moment there is no other way to defend yourself but not to go murder people because u have a sick mind....
He didn't use a weapon in self defense because he died for our sins...He came to earth for that purpose I guess so if he had somehow fought back it would have defeated that purpose....Also they say love your enemies because you should hold no grudges...You should rise against the enemy and show you are stronger and that you can "love" them and be kind or whatever even if they show hatred towards you...
I'm not huge on religion but this is what I think about these things...Its not our fault that the mentally ill decide to abuse there "right to bear arms".....sometimes tragedies like this have to happen so that we can rise above them and prevail or so that a moajor event can come out of this tragedy for the better...(i dunno)

Jesus always said that his reign was not like other human reigns. He's talking about spiritual things, that no all people would understand about. Paul, the apostle, talked about a sword but a spiritual one, 'cause we humans have a fight against the invisible and evil powers of the Devil. So if Jesus said love your brother as you lover yourself, how you'd carry a gun?...But nowadays people has to carry a gun 'cause almost no one follows Jesus' teachings. It would be so different if all people really make the effort to put his teachings in our own lives and act accordingly.

Christians are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out there pal. They believe in God. They believe that the bible is Gods word. I think thats all I need to say. Oh and they alllllllllways quote the bible as if a book of stories is the answer to everything in the world. Damn and one more thing if it is true what The Mail said about christians and your constitution then, hey, the constitution need a serious rethink. Maybe that is why your once great country is all messed up today.

Personally I feel that anyone that fights for the right to carry a firearm is a lunatic waiting to happen, christian or not. This isn't the wild west, even in those days the sheriff outlawed guns in saloons. There is a reason for that. Not everyone has enough self-control to carry a gun. I wouldn't even trust myself with a gun. I wouldn't have anything against having a gun at home in case a burglar threatens your family, but ordinary citizens carrying guns on the street is crazy. I work with a lunatic like this, I fear for my life.

1 - he did have apostles that carried swords
2 - he did have weapons and did self defense
3 - love thy tiger? snake? black widow? or love thy fly? rat? both are enemy , however one will kill you.
the school banned guns. Anyways, the students didn't have a "right" to carry guns, thats why so many died. Cause if they had the right to carry guns in the school, only 1 would be dead.

When Peter struck the slave of the high priest and cut off his ear, Jesus said "Put away your sword," and healed the slave.
Just as Islamists have Jihad, so do fundamentalist Christians. At what age should we allow our children to carry guns to school to "defend" themselves? 16 or maybe 12 or maybe 6?
Are the Anne Coulters of the world so paranoid that they would arm children?

Why do you feel like you are more privileged than a Christian in protecting yourself, Besides, The constitution was written by CHRISTIANS, Remember!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jesus was unarmed Physically, but Spiritually, HE could of commanded Legions of Angels--now, if you can't defend your self SPIRITUALLY (oh yea of little faith) then you'd better defend yourself PHYSICALLY--what ever it takes. It is really up to the guy who attacks you as to how Far You have to go to Defend yourself.
Jesus said to us--no man takes your Life!
We have the GOD Given Right to Defend Ourselves if Attacked.
Ditto...........
