What happened to Marcos Ruas? He used to win UFC tournaments?

Yeah, he was the first to use foot-stomping as an effective technique.

Marco Ruas has his own Vale Tudo school. He is still training Pedro Rizzo who is nearing the end of his career too though so there will be more fighters coming out of that school.

The last time I saw him compete was against Maurice Smith and I don't think his knee ever healed properly after that.

You can find his MMA record here. - http://www.sherdog.com/fightfinder/fightfinder.asp?FighterID=120

Not to sound mean but who cares. I lost all respect for him when he had a fit after a fight he lost. Judges gave it to his opponent and he got all nuts. Who are they, he said. What gives them the right to judge me. He showed his true colors that night. He wouldn't have been that way if he had won. After that I had no respect for him. Now that that is said I will more than admit he'd kick my butt. All you Ruas fans take note, I admitted that I couldn't beat him. There would be two hits, him hitting me -- me hitting the ground. I just can't respect a person who throws a fit if they lose. Suck it up and drive on.

He's a coach of an IFL team (the Condors) now. Last I heard he had a knee injury that put a stop to his fighting. If you haven't seen the IFL battleground show, it airs on Mon nights (local channel). The link below is a link to his page on the IFL site.
