You doctor's opinion is the general experience I heard unless you are already crying with pain. Since you are able to put up this question I think he is right.
Some doctors will recommend immediate surgery because that is a preventive approach and, of course, not to say that will be part of their business income.

My husband had appendicitis. He waited for like 3 days before going to the hospital b-cuz the pain was so bad and when he did the hospital the doctor said it was a good thing that he came in when he did cuz his appendix was about to burst. If he waited any longer- he could have been leaving the hospital in a box! Needless to say he went into the operating room pretty much right then and there! He had to stay in the hospital for a few days afterwords but he felt a whole hell of a lot better! I would defenitly go in asap-cuz if your appendiz burst-it'll spread poision with in your body!

Hey I almost died from that. I went to the hospital with stomach pain, was given a shot for pain and sent home. My white count was up but I was told that I either had a tubal pregnancy or it was my appendix. So I was sent home and I drove myself. Got home, could barely get out of my car, called the hospital up and by this time I did start the vomiting scene. I drove myself back to the hospital right to to the ER doors and by the time I got in I was heaving. By now, of coarse they were taking me seriously. Next thing I know, I had a surgeon over me telling me how sick I was and I was put out. My appendix had ruptured and I could have died. The surgeon was appalled and he asked me if I knew how sick I was. It happened that fast. So on that note, don't put your life at risk because some idiot doesn't get the picture. Ya want to know the best part? I told those clowns that it was impossible fro me to be pregnant before they even sent me home. Take care of yourself!

Appendicitis is treated by surgery. If you have an elevated leucogram, pain and a physical exam confirming appendicitis , you don't wait two more days. On the other hand, you could only have an abdominal pain and no other symptoms suggesting appendicitis: fever, elevated leucogram.....and then you should wait, observe, repeat the leucograms every 6h and if you develop more symptoms or the leucogram elevates, you should have surgery

are you lacking in insurance? the reason i ask is that a patient should never be allowed to linger in pain and risk infection.
i was in your position, only with my gallbladder, allowed to linger for three months on disability and ended up almost dead when my gallstone outgrew my gallbladder. it was horrible inhumane treatment based upon the fact that my union had canceled my insurance without my knowledge though they were still taking payment for insurance out of my checks.
go back to your doctor, tell the receptionist it is an emergency and you will wait to be seen or, better yet, go to the emergency room and insist that you been admitted.
every day that you are allowed to linger weakens your overall health and is unacceptable.

If they were 100% sure that it was appendacitis they WOULD rush you in immediately. There is no rush yet. Have faith in your doctors. There are several occasion they will open some one up and find it was not appendacitis but something such as a kidney stone or an ovarien problem. Please dont sweat it. If those two symptoms the doctor told you start to occur then worry. I understand you are in pain but its ok. Not time to worry yet. Im so sorry.

You really need to go to the ER right now. Waiting a couple more days could cause some serious problems.

I had a ruptured appendix when I was 13. I almost died. Appendicitis is so misdiagnosed you can't even sue for malpractice. Get a second opinion. I hope you get better. Take care.

Get another doctor. Appendicitis is no laughing matter, and it's not something you should wait to treat. Listen to your friends here.
Good luck!
