There is nothing more sure than what the Bible says!
I would rather believe God and His Word, than believe mortal man - any day of the week!

No - evolution has nothing to Threaten my Faith!
Interesting the fact that 'WE' are living in this time! - Science has given MORE PROOF of what is spoken in the BIBLE than what WAS shown (NOT PROVED) with evolution (actually it was pro oven and shown to be - most of it - a HOAX!) where the Bible IS being proved by Science!
1. Exodus - we were looking at the WRONG years 1300 BC!
2. Sodom and Gomorrah - Has Been Found!
3. The REAL Location of the 'TEMPLE)!
New archaeological and biological EVIDENCE IS coming UP Everyday! I for one find it Amazing!!!
This information can be found and verified on several web - sights. You can also go to the HistoryChannel.com and order the DVDs of the shows they had on Cable over last year!
Take Care and God Bless!

It might be a good idea to explain just exactly what the ToE actually is as opposed to the Creationist's Straw Man version.
FYI: Evolution is a fact and a theory. It has been "proven" to be the most accurate model for the development of modern life forms. Anyone who says different is simply closing their eyes and ears while screaming "I CAN'T HEAR YOU!" at the top of their lungs.

I'm one of those who used to be a fundie, but I guess I wasn't a "true" fundie, because even then, I believed Evolution to be true. It didn't threaten my faith then nor does it now. Why would it be a threat to someone's faith to consider what god may have created, has the power (that of course, god gave it) to continue to evolve and grow, adapt and flourish?
I'm not a Christian, by the way, but even when I was one (and I can't wait to see how many people tell me that if I left Christianty then I never was a "real" or "true" Christian or "once saved always saved so you're stuck with Christianity kind of stuff), Evolution made sense. It's there, it's tangible, it's logical, and it's evident.
Peace,
Beki

Many biologists who believe in evolution are also
Christians. Obviously, believing in evolution doens't shake their faith. The position of most Christian churches regarding evolution is that it is not inconsistent with Christian belief. A minority takes the Genesis creation story literally, and evolution is a threat to their beliefs.

Define your term. Do you mean:
evolution - change over time
or
darwinism - All living things are modified descendants of a common ancestor, the principal mechanism of modification being natural selection acting on undirected variations that originate in DNA mutations. The unguided process are sufficient to explain all features of living things - so whatever may appear to be design is just an illusion.

If evolution was proved to be true, it would not threaten my faith at all. I would simply figure that God created the universe in a different way than I had originally believed. If evolution is true, God still made it happen. I like a bumper sticker I saw the other day. It said,"Big Bang Theory: God spoke, and BANG! It happened." Peace.

I have studied this subject for about 12 years now. Evolution is wishful thinking so far. I don't care where you start to inspect its structure-you immediately uncover assumptions in the foundation of every leg. There is no basis for evolution. It started as a supposition-and even though it has grown tremendously over the years, so have the assumptions. The whole of evolution is still no more than a poor guess.

Micro evolution meaning change within a species is true...it is observed everywhere. Christians don't have a problem with that. It is macro evolution, or change from one species to another that they are skeptical about. There is only speculation about that and zero proof. The proponents of macro evolution are more religious that the Christians they vilify. Have you ever heard the JOKE about the missing link?

no.....I'm muslim and I accept evolution. course when I first learned about it I was unsure what to think but after reading up on my religion I realized evolution doesn't actually conflict. The Quran even says that all life originated from water...something I learned last semester in evolution class

No, until someone can answer why we don't still have evolution occuring today, (we should be able to see all life changing from one form toanother , which we don't (they say there is proof in bacteria, but when they look more closely they see that a resistance has been change but no real evolutionary changes the bacteria is still the bacteria). Then I will look at changing. until then.....faith works just as well
