The Bible's accuracy and reliability have been proved and verified over and over again by archaeological finds produced by both believing and no believing scholars and scientists. This included verification for numerous customs, places, names, and events mentioned in the Bible.
One among many examples is the fact that for many years the existence of the Hittites (a powerful people who lived during the time of Abraham) was questioned because no archaeological digs had uncovered anything about them. Critics claimed the Hittites were pure myth. But today the critics are silenced. Abundant archaeological evidence for the existence of the Hittites during the time of Abraham has been uncovered.
Bible scholar Donald J. Wiseman notes, "The geography of Bible lands and visible remains of antiquity were gradually recorded until today more than 23,000 sites within this region and dating to Old Testament times, in their broadest sense, have been located." Nelson Glueck, a specialist in ancient literature, did an exhaustive study and concluded: "It can be stated categorically that no archaeological discovery has ever controverter a biblical reference." Well-known scholar William F. Albright, following a comprehensive studies, wrote: "Discovery after discovery has established the accuracy of innumerable details, and has brought increased recognition of the value of the Bible as a source of History."

There are more than 24,000 partial and complete manuscript copies of the New Testament. These manuscript copies are very ancient and they are available for inspection NOW. there are also some 86,000 quotations from the early church fathers and several thousand lectionaries (church-service books containing Scripture quotations used in the early centuries of Christianity). In fact, there are enough quotations from the early church fathers that even if we did not have a single copy of the Bible, scholars could still reconstruct all but 11 verses of the entire New Testament from material written within 150 to 200 years from the time of Christ. Bottom line: The New Testament has an overwhelming amount of evidence supporting its reliability.

I think some parts of the Bible is accurate and some we interpret in our ways because we don' t fully understand. There was a time when I thought the Bible was just the greatest novel ever wrote...a made up story. I believe it's real.

"Accurate and real?"

A book that says that bats are birds, that snakes, mules, and dogs can talk, and advocates a bloody ritual involving a bird to cure leprosy? A book that claims a worldwide flood that not only left behind no evidence but went entirely unnoticed by the ancient civilizations also existing at the time? A book that claims that the sun stood still in the sky, that the human race was respawned by a single small family, that fortified walls can come crashing down by screaming at them, and that a massive amount of people migrated from Egypt to Canaan without leaving behind a single trace of their journey?

It could only be called "accurate and real" by those so steeped in delusion that reality is no longer a consideration.

The Bible is accurate. I will put the Word of God written by His prophets up against any prophesies ever told or written.

Too many prophesies have come true. An untruth is not found in the Holy Bible. God is more than able to verify His Word and keep it accurate.

Of course the Bible is real!
Some events in the Bible are historically accurate (like the Flood and nomadic peoples of 2000 BC in the mesopotamia region)
Alsoooooooooo becoming more of the Jesus freak that i am:
the Bible was inspired by God himself and worked through the many authors to tell us the truth

No.

Talking snakes, talking donkeys, talking-burning bushes, fake healing but no medical knowledge, fake resurrections but no CPR, filled with the same nonsense as the surrounding Pagan cultures ie. virgin births - god-men saviors - ascension to the sky, descending to hell/hades, commandments to kill women who aren't virgins on their wedding night, commandments to kill just about everyone for just about everything, bizarre reasoning surrounding a supposed ritual human sacrifice that is supposed to do what for me?, human sacrifices, ritual animal sacrifices, a bizarre primitive tribal legal system, rehashed Greek Mystery Cult nonsense, the unfounded belief in eternal life, imaginary rewards and punishments linked to nothing that makes any real sense, the bizarre ideas that all cults share especially concerning their belief that only 'they' can understand because only 'they' believe, endless contradictions that everyone but the 'believers' can see, historical inaccuracies, false and failed prophecies, .non-prophecies teased and tortured into prophecies in an attempt to link completely unconnected events and books, known translation errors that are conveniently ignored by the Church......................

I could go on for hours and I haven't even gotten to Archeology, Biology and Biblical Criticism.

The Bible is the Infalible Word of God & has never been proven wrong sooooo when Scripture says "Heaven & Earth shall pass away but My Word Shall Not." , I believe it! I've found that the more mankind tries to dis-credit Scripture, the more it stands firm!!! John

I believe in the Bible 100%, but I believe some parts of it should be taken metaphorically, as opposed to literally.

Yes. Because it has withstood several hundred years of critical analysis and is found without fault so far. No other document in history even comes close.

Its okay not to believe it-thats no problem. But do not say it is not accurate or real-that would be a lie.
