because both are anti-histamines. Zantac is USED for stomach acid, but it exerts its effect by blocking histamine receptors in (among other places) the stomach.

Your pharmacist should have told you this. No matter, a Pharmacist just did.

zantac is used mostly for peptic ulcers simulates the production of acid by the cells lining the stomach
Hard to say why he would recommend the two a bit drastic in my books. Be best if you go and ask why? Myself l would look for a second opinion and use a more natural cure.

Zantac is a histamine blocker used to treat ulcers. It is also used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (gerd).
Zyrtec is an antihistamine too, but it is also used to treat allergies.
I think Zyrtec is prescribed to prevent possible allergic side effects of Zantac. But of course your doctor know better :)

I can't imagine taking a prescription for a rash. I would recommend Renew, by Melaleuca. Renew was clinically tested against Eucerin for many skin irritations, and surpassed the Eucerin in every catagory tested.
