My grandpa just went off for no reason because he's always right, so argumentive blah,, blah,, blah,,

Well anyhow, he called me a fool. I'm going to use his own book to show him how "wise and noble" he truly is:

Matthew 5:22 ... And whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire.

So, doesn't this mean if you call someone a fool, you're going to hell?

God Bless.

Well, then that would mean that everytime you say "i hate you" that youre going to hell too, because hating is just like killing according to the Bible. But your grandpa can ask forgiveness. Cause God forgives even the worst sinner. But that verse probably doesnt mean what youre saying it to mean. The title of the paragraph is titled "Murder" It is talking about murder and being angry with your brother. If you want to investigate this for yourself read Matther 5:21-26.
Now, I am not a Bible scholar and Im not going to pretend to be one so I am not going to say Im exactly right. I could be wrong and I could be right. I think that I may be, but this wouldnt be the first time I was wrong. Honestly, from what I know, that if your grandfather called you that and asks forgiveness from God then Hes not goin go to hell. If your grandfather believes that Christ died and rose again and will come again, hes not gonna burn in hell.
But what were you two talking about before he called you a fool?????

Let me give you a better one young man. "Honor your father and your mother, so your days will be long."

Let me ask you a question. Was Grandpa angry with you WITHOUT A CAUSE? Keep the Holy Scriptures in context.
If Grandpa was angry with you without a cause and called you a fool then he will be liable to hell fire. However with a righteous cause to get you to do what is right and to keep you from being a rebellious child, Grandpa would not be charged for calling you a fool. Meaning a fool for being a rebellious child. And only a fool would be disrespectful to his Grandpa.
Who are you?

The word "fool" in Matthew 5:22 is used in a different context as what your grandpa called you. When someone called you a fool in the context of Matthew 5:22 is was used in a derrogatory, hateful, insulting way which suggested not walking in love towards your fellow man. You could only apply this to your grandpa if he is saying he does'nt love you. Otherwise, he could be absolutely right in saying you are a fool. Actually, you should go apologize to him.

The Bible calls Atheists fools in Psalms 14:a million and fifty 3:a million. in all possibility someplace else too. you're appropriate that Christians now and lower back decide too on the instant, myself blanketed, and are meaner approximately correcting human beings than is mandatory, that's in all possibility what Matthew 5:22 is relating. even however, I stand on the authority of God's observe and say that Atheists are fools, because of the fact God pronounced it first. A fool, interior the biblical experience, isn't one with low mind. that's individual who disobeys God. You shop up wrath for your self once you sin and that's silly.

If you call someone a fool and don't repent, then yes you could. Always thinks hes right and so argumentative, you just described every liberal atheist I have ever met.

Calm down, Hun.
Remember, Grandpa is old.
Remember that you are to respect and love him, even when he seems unreasonable.
Remember that, one day, God willing, you too, will be old.
Treat the old man the way you want your own grandchildren to treat you, when the time comes.
Trust me, it is the wisest course open to you.

How do I know this??
Why sweet child...because I am a grandmother!!

You should talk to him about that. I read that scripture when I was about 11. It struck me hard. I don't necessarily think NOW that the word "fool" is the whole thing in question. Yes, it's one of them. If you say "idiot" for example, it's the same thing... I think it's a whole "judgement" question. You are placing someone in your judgement when you are calling them a fool or an idiot.

That is what it says. Thank God he can repent. Point it out only if you are not a fool. I think it has to do with condemnation. If you are doing foolish things maybe he is trying to help you and I think that is also commanded.

"liable to go to hell"
If he asks forgiveness from God the Bible says he'll be okay. 'course, if he called you a fool, there's a chance he isn't really a Christian... who knows but God really?
