i have shoulder length hair with about one layer in it and a side fringe type thing, and i want to get it cut but i don't know what to get. i want it short and kind of emo-y or unusual. any help would be appreciated.

It is very hard to answer your question w/o knowing your face shape and personality. I suggest some looking through some magazines and finding a few styles that you like. You can then take that to the salon and let the stylist recommend something.

Depends on what you look like, find pictures similar to what you want, even if its just a small part of the picture that you want and take it in to the hairdressers when you have a consultation, take a few pics, and talk to them and they'll help you work out something right for your face shape etc.
