My cat's left eye has been dilated for 4 days.
The right eye is normal, though the left pupil is much larger then the right eye.

You should take your cat to a veterinarian immediately - and ensure they are comfortable with ophthalmology. Neurologic deficits can cause the pupil to become large like that (mydriatic), but they can be secondary neurologic problems (to something else going on affecting the nerve) or there can be an ocular problem as well. Main concerns regarding ocular problems in cats that would present this way would be retinal detachments and glaucoma. Either of these can result from long-standing inflammation in the eye which you may or may not have been able to see any signs of just by looking at your cat - these should be checked out for general health concerns as well as visual ones. Retinal detachments are frequently seen in cats with high blood pressure (due to kidney disease, heart disease, or endocrine problems like hyperthyroidism). The longer this goes undiagnosed and treated, the less chance of regaining any vision in the eye. Glaucoma is not only blinding, but also painful. Make sure your veterinarian can check the pressure in the eye and looks in the back of the eye (does fundoscopy). There are "nerve" problems that go away on their own or may be due to an ear problem or more seriously, a tumor in the brain or behind the eye. Only your veterinarian (or they may send you to an ophthalmologist) can help you find out what is going on. Can your cat see out of that eye???

I'm fairly sure this is more a neurological sign than just a problem with the eye. One of the things vets check when they're doing a neurological check is size and dilation of pupils.

I would get the cat checked by a vet. There are several things that can cause neurological symptoms (poisoning, heartworms, trauma). None of them are particularly good, so while it may be nothing, it's not worth the risk to wait it out.

No, it's not normal. He should be looked at by a vet. He could be going blind in that eye.
