I have a puppy and a kitty. I'm already giving my puppy the Frontline, but...my cat however, I've heard that Advantage is better for cats, and Frontline is better for dogs. I read about advantage, and it says it kills fleas, but how about ticks?? So, which one is the best for cats, just curious what other people do, thanx!

They're both good. Frontline is as good for cats as with dogs. Frontline also kills ticks. Advantix is the version of Advantage that kills ticks as well as fleas, if that's the brand you're happy with.

Veterinary products are not overpriced. You get what you pay for - which is why petshop stuff is cheaper, because 90% of the time it doesn't work. You can get prescription only products for cheaper on the internet, because well, everything's cheaper on the internet!

I think Frontline is better because it has an extra ingredient for fleas. There is also Revolution which kills fleas, earmites, and worms at the same time.
Here is a website that compares the Frontline and Advantage:

Hope it answers your questions.

I have found that the over-the-counter drops by Sargeant work at least as well as the overpriced, prescription-only meds. All my dogs are outside dogs and I never find fleas on them, and rarely ticks.
