I don't want any kind of lectures, people take diet pills, and laxatives and I believe its just as bad.
So will I lose weight like this? I've been eating 400-800 cals a day and losing weight but I changed my plan a bit.
Breakfast- Apple 80cals
Snack- Strawberry 9 cals
Lunch- V8 30 cals
Snack- Strawberry 9 cals
Dinner- rice/pasta/chicken 100-400 cals
Dessert- skinny cow popscicle 50 cals
I know dinner seems ridiculous compared to everything else but I can't lower that.
I know many of you are going to call me a frickin idiot but you know what it doesnt bother me ;)
Also I beleive it will help me lose weight, it keeps my metabolism going right?
Don't tell me "starving" myself only makes me fatter, ive tried it and it works...

You are blatantly starving yourself so dont say that's not your intention, the amount of calories and that foods you are getting them from is a VERY similar diet of an anorexics. Following this for very long will put you into the anorexic weight category if you only have a bmi of 23. Go get some help, you need it!

I would call up your doctor and ask them about this. People who are on diets below a thousand calories a day need to be monitored by a doctor because their electrolytes can get really messed up. I am telling you this because I am a PA student who just had a lecturer who is a dietician come in and stress this. They usually put morbidily obese people on this level of calorie restriction. So yes you will lose weight, but it really is not safe.

Hi -
It will help you loose weight, yes - but it is not the type of plan that will allow you to keep it off. What happens is that your metabolism will adapt to the daily consumption of less calories. Once it adapts it will basically work as if those are the calories you need (you will still loose weight since that may not be enough calories to stabilize) and the metabolism slows down. This means that once you increase your intake you will gain the weight back and quickly (and perhaps more since the metabolism doesn't speed up as it slows just because you eat more food).
Obviously you know that exercise is the key to increasing the metabolism and allowing you to burn more calories and fat. But I wanted to also mention something else that you might want to consider that may help you with loosing weight (a little slower maybe but it will stay off).
Start the morning with a veggie juice or blend (fresh is best) if you can (add a little piece of fruit for flavor if you need to)...you can also add a little protein powder ~200-300 calories depending on what you put in it.
Light lunch, yogurt if you like it is great, you can throw some strawberries or other fruits in it. Yogurt has bacteria that you need in your body and will help you stabilize your digestive system. ~100-200 calories (unless you use whole milk yougurt ---- actually Soy Milk yogurt is the best if you can take it)
Have an apple or something light as an afternoon snack if you need to.
Dinner sounds great! - However, something that will help you digest your food is food enzymes that you can take with dinner from the health food store. Wait at least 2 hours before going to bed after dinner.
I try to make salad with each dinner and eat that first this way i eat less of the actual dinner plate (most say dinner should be the lightest meal but unfortunately for me, because of work, classes, etc it ends up being out only sit down opportunity).
Drink at least 2 L of water each day.
Lastly one day each week fast. You can fast outright and just drink H2O or you can do something like the lemonade fast that works wonders for cleansing and loosing weight. (I do the lemonade fast, I get up early on Mondays and start it off before work ---- if you do this I suggest you do it on a no work day the first time until you feel confortable with your body's reaction).

This plan will give you more calories each day but with the fast you will loose weight. You will also feel better as the fast helps cleanse your body ... and you will be eating a much more nutritious and abundant diet.
Try to get exercise as much as you can as that is what builds up the metabolism (muscle burns many more calories than fat) ... also - try to mix the foods you eat (i.e. not just ckicken as your protein ... try eggs, seafood, etc) so that you are getting the right levels of nutrients and vitamins.

This plan will help you lose muscle and water weight very quickly, so technically the number on the scale will drop. Eventually you will start to become "skinny fat" where you look thin but your body fat percentage is actually very high. This is seen everywhere in high fashion with the stick thin runway models. These girls surprisingly have all the same health problems that come with morbid obesity, like high cholesterol and heart disease, all because their body fat percentage is high. I know it sounds hard to believe, but I did the same thing you are currently doing in hopes of losing weight, but to no avail. I was always pinching fat when the number on the scale dropped. I started doing lots of cardio and that didn't even help either! One of the trainers said that my body was in starvation mode, where your body will literally hold on to every ounce of fat and burn up your muscle mass first. I was told to start doing light weight training and lessen the cardio, along with eating at least 1500 calories a day. She said that was what would actually produce results like a lean, toned body. I certainly don't want to be the super skinny girl who can't walk down the block without breathing rapidly!

yes you will lose weight with that diet but realize that you are also depriving your body of much needed nutrients. Your best option would be to eat more in the morning then at night so that you can burn off the extra calories during the day.
They say that in the morning you should eat like a hungry person, In the afternoon you should eat like a princess and at night you should eat like a mouse.

For better use of what youre getting move dinner to breakfast. That way youre not sleeping after it and absorbing the calories as fat-theyll go more to energy to power you throughout the day---that will make you lose more weight.
Also be sure to take a multi vitamin.

I would move the large meal to the earlier part of the day, otherwise, as long as you are careful not to over exert on such low nutritional intake, you should gain your weight loss goal. Be prepared tho, once you attain your goal and begin to eat more normally, the weight will come back.

it wont keep ur metabolism going, after you drop past 1000 cals a day you screw it up, and most fruit and veggies other than bananas beans and potatoes burn more calories digesting than you take in eating them. but ya u should lose wieght, just not very healthy.
