We get along great sober, but everytime we get drunk we fight. The fighting gets worse everytime and we even hit each other. We are currently trying to get over a fight from last weekend, should we even try.

if your promblem accur only when your drinking maybe you should be asking should we stop drinking... now do think i am bashing or lecturing..me and my bf are also drinkers..we just dont fight while were drinking..or maybe you could try not getting so drunk that you end up in a agurment...i had a friend i used to party with.. we got along great for a while and then suddenly we were fighting.. i could not figure out why ...so the next time we partied i stayed sober.. i sip my drinks... made them extra light and before the night was over he was trying to pick a fight with me.. we dont party together no more.. just talk on the phone .. it will last for hours with the both of us drinking.. but i dont get order out of his house when i am smashed

I think you should stop getting drunk and try to work things out sober. Alcohol alters brain function. Why would you base a relationship on how it works when you are under the influence of alcohol? Any relationship in which one person is a drunk does not work. Imgine if both are drunks.

It depends entirely on whether you see the relationship as being salvageable.
If you do stay together then just stop drinking so much, have a pint or so and then leave it. It maybe that you are drinking to much in to little time, I have seen it and done it. That makes my friend violent, I on the other hand seem to love everyone.

If I were you, I wouldn't stay together. That's a serious disaster waiting to happen. What happens if one or both of you get so violent someone lands in the hospital? That will even land you guys in legal hot water, domestic violence....that kind of thing.
