1) Potted and shade loving house plants that are decorative and help to set the moods right can be put in the office or on the desks or near about.

2 ) Make it a habit of greeting your colleague with flowers on their birthdays .

3) Talk about the plants in the office ( Opportunities permitting) as one talks about the pets or relatives .

4) With reference to plants , find out likes and dislikes of your colleague , see if you can make use of the knowledge.

For example if your co-worker is fond of orchids , then present him / her with an orchid plant one day!

Or discuss with him the finer points of orchid growing.
