Vicodin is a narcotic. Any medication that works by binding to opioid receptors in the body is considered a narcotic.

Morphine is definitely more powerful, but not necessarily only used for cancer patients. Morphine is a standard for people with chest pain... and is often used with patients with kidney stones etc. There are more power narcotics such as Dilaudid and Fentanyl.

Vicodin is a mix of 5mg (In some cases 10mg or more)Hydrocodone and 325mg Acetaminophen (Tylenol). So you shouldn't take it with too much tylenol (or you could damage your liver). Hydrocodone is the narcotic portion of Vicodin. Codeine and Hydrocodone are not the same, but work the same way, both being narcotics.

Almost any narcotic pain reliever is stronger than vicodin (hydrocodone). Hydrocodone is usually one of the first narcotic drugs prescribed by drs. when patients have mild -moderately severe pain. Percocet, etc. (oxycodone) is stronger than hydrocodone.

Tylenol is an OTC analgesic, good for headaches and stuff. If the tylenol eliminates your pain, try to avoid the narcotics.

Codeine is another narcotic, similar to hydrocodone and oxycodone.

Some stronger painkillers include, morphine, fentanyl, methadone, dilaudid.

They are all narcotics morphine being the strongest on your list. vicodin is for pain. Codeine is for pain. They are basically all the same. They come in different strengths some with tylenol, some without. Just type the word in and you'll learn everything you need to know.

I cant take vicodine because it is so strong that it makes me vomit. Morphine is the most powerful. Usually you cant even get that from a dr unless you are on last stages of cancer and are dying.

Vicodin and codeine are pretty good but you have to get a prescription.

Really it depends on the person and how their body chemistry works with narcotic pain medications.

Vicodin (Hydrocodone) is a narcotic painkiller. So is Percocet (Oxycontin). Codine is often paired up with Tylenol. Morphine is typically not administered outside of a medical facility.
