My son had OCD while he was on psych meds. Now that he is off them, the OCD went away.

I was not aware that the VTech shooter was on any medication. I just heard that he was thought to be disturbed. I don't think medication alone can help anyone. And medication without follow up can make things worse.

As far the Columbine kids, they were kids. Almost all anti-depressants warn against the side effects in people under 18 on these medications.

Please don't confuse people like this shooter with those of us who are having trouble with depression and ARE not disturbed in any other way. Medication has helped me somewhat even though I have a way to go.

They were also all men. I always knew men were horrible!! They all were also in school. Education must be dangerous and must be eradicated! I could go on, but I think you get the idea.

Medications have done wonderful things for many people, of which I am one. I'm honest with my doctor and because of that, I have medications that actually work. As with anything, there are exceptions. We have no idea if the shooter was even actually on medications. They say they "believe" he "may" have been.

Medications are a wonderful tool for us IF used as suggested and if one is honest about side effects or changes in mood. They do more good than harm, and we cannot fairly condemn their benefit by the behavior of three men... possibly two.

Medication is not always the answer for everything.

Just because a person is put on a blood pressure, or diabetes medication does not mean that the problem is solved.

because meds do nothing ot a persons mind, people who shoot-up schools are just having issues and letting them come back to htem full force, it's not htat the meds are oding anything wrong, it's just that they are finding ways around them.
