Not, yes, not.
People that have seen the results of belief in a god are not likely to keep believing.

Most people in the military believe in God only because most Americans believe in God. Probably 85-95%.
I know a seargent in the army reserve who is an atheist. I also have several family members who were in the military and believe in God, one of whom is a deacon.
it is not true, however, that there are no atheists in foxholes. What about Kurt Vonnegut? And everyone in the organization Foxhole Atheists?

Since 90% of the country believes in God I think it's safe to say there are probably more theists than atheist anywhere, including the military. There are plenty of atheists in the military though.

My son is in the Military, and just returned from a tour of duty in Iraq, He is an Elder
in our Church, so YES he does believe in God, and I know God will take care of him while he is over there....He has been over there 5 times now since Desert Storm...
I am so proud of him.....
And you know what else, he told me 75% of the people there are Christians, But everyone believes in GOD!!!

The majority of the US Armed Services are Christian (ironically enough). However, the Chaplain's Manual details multiple faith structures and how to provide for the religious and spiritual needs of practitioners of other faiths. To whit, the current incarnation of this document even includes brief sections on Wicca, Neo-Paganism, and Satanism.

Since most of the US is Christian, I'd say it's pretty safe to bet that most of the US military believes in god.
